The world is drying out as global warming intensifies and increases. Increased temperatures lead to more plus faster evaporation plus longer more intense drought cycles. Longer and more intense droughts dry out soils and forests, leading to more desertification.

At the same time, the increased moisture in the upper atmosphere creates larger and more frequent plus intense storms, which then destroy crops, homes, forests and infrastructure due to larger more intense tornadoes, wind storms, plus hurricanes.

Ecosystems across Australia are collapsing under climate change
We identified ecosystems across Australia that have recently experienced catastrophic changes, including:

kelp forests shifting to seaweed turfs following a single marine heatwave in 2011;

the destruction of Gondwanan refugia by wildfire ignited by lightning storms in 2016;

dieback of floodplain forests along the Murray River following the millennial drought in 2001–2009;

large-scale conversion of alpine forest to shrubland due to repeated fires from 2003–2014;

community-level boom and bust in the arid zone following extreme rainfall in 2011–2012, and

mangrove dieback across a 1,000km stretch of the Gulf of Carpentaria after a weak monsoon in 2015-2016.

Of these six case studies, only the Murray River forest had previously experienced substantial human disturbance. The others have had negligible exposure to stressors, highlighting that undisturbed systems are not necessarily more resilient to climate change.

The case studies provide a range of examples of how presses and pulses can interact to push an ecosystem to a “tipping point”. In some cases, a single extreme event may be sufficient to cause an irreversible regime shift.

SUMMARY; THE SOLUTIONS ARE ALL THERE, READY AND WAITING FOR US


Bottom line, the odds are stacked against humanity, because the 1% has taken over many levers of power and control, and for selfish short term reasons of profit and power, they will not let the truth be known.

The answers are all there. We can switch off all carbon fuel sources via an emergency global Marshal Plan. We need to stop using all wood, oil, coal, gas, propane, natural gas, nuclear, diesel, and gasoline.

The solution (if it is not too late already) is to implement and switch over to hydrogen powered everything, in addition to solar, wind, water, tides, waves, geothermal and other zero carbon fuels. 

We can do this as a global community. Even if the odds are stacked 100 to 1 against us, isn't it worth trying? Haven't you ever rooted for the underdog? Well, the underdog now is the whole world, and the evil, despicable people who are destroying the whole world and all life on it are only 1% of the total. So if the 99% really get mad and won't take it anymore, what chance have they got? Bottom line it is all up to us, you and me.

What is the take away? Unless humanity stops the carbon monopoly from dominating the political landscape and figures out a way to make a huge, fast, paradigm shift away from carbon fuels and into carbon free renewables such as hydrogen, water, wind, geothermal and more, it looks like humanity is on a global suicide path. Instead of slowing down, the speed towards this suicide is increasing. There is still hope, but time is running out fast, and the odds of success are dropping by the day.

Vote for Green Party or any candidate that does not take corporate money and who is not a billionaire, if nothing else, as they will make the green revolution happen. Just voting for the major two parties changes nothing.

Not voting allows the status quo to stay in place.
