McCain cast himself as a 'rebel' and loner, but his voting record shows that he voted FOR Trump policies and laws over 80 percent of the time, effectively making him a Trump supporter. 

However, there were a few times when McCain was not afraid to stand up to the majority and speak his mind and views.

Due to his unspeakable experience of many years of torture in North Vietnam, he was anti torture in all ways.

Most people applauding and worshiping war heroes tend to not focus on the false flag attacks, including McCain.

Charles Frederick If I were to add any more gouts to the bloody praise for John McCain, I would only be assisting casting in bronze another (bigger, better, shiny new and renovated) Confederate statue like the ones of their generals the white slave masters had forcibly strewn across the land during this last century and a half for us all to fall on our knees to worship. They were proposing to celebrate the battle honors of the “gallant” South, when actually those statues had been cast from the blood and bones of those “many thousands gone”, those who had been enslaved, and the rampages of war fought to continue race based slavery. We have been learning to tear those statues down and to replace those white nation “heroes” with the truth of what they were and what they did. Let us do the same to John McCain.

(Come children around the fire, while I tell you the scary tale of a nation from once upon a time, which grew and thrived because of a slaughter of the first inhabitants of this land (and how their land was stolen), and which became rich on the bloodied backs of enslaved Africans, people forcibly removed from another continent and enslaved in this land (the women routinely raped for the pleasure of the white owners) from once upon a time. Huddle together, children while I tell you this tale which seems unimaginable, but all of which still is true.)

John McCain was a perpetual warrior hero of the white nation, an imperial factotum, war monger, and protector of the masters’ interests. He refused the establishment of Martin Luther King Day, (apologizing later when it became fact and convenient for his political career). He always carried very low marks for his civil rights and immigration support. John McCain was my enemy in the time of the Vietnam war because he was the enemy of the Vietnamese people, sending them to death by fire from his plane high in the sky–and he has been the enemy of the many who have fought empire ever since. John McCain loved war, whatever he might piously say to the contrary.

But there was a new awakening of consciousness in this country and in the global world in the post WWII era, which brought a revivifying and necessary truthful retelling of US history from the “bottom up”, from those who previously had been defeated, killed, and enslaved, their places erased from the record book of humanity, to be officially replaced (with careful policing of how the narrative would be reproduced) with the cruel and decaying self glorifying tribe of the conquistador white nation, once they on all the continents arrived with their weapons of war and their blood thirsty bible, the advent of their master race history.

But after WWII (remember, defeating Fascism and the Shoah, genocide of the Jewish people, when the US military was still segregated, when the later GI bill was not extended to African Americans, when the new US hegemony was being established) our new awakening of consciousness, anti imperialist, anti colonialist, anti racist, included the Civil Rights Movement, national liberation movements, the Black Liberation Movement, The Black Panther Party, The Young Lords, the American Indian Movement, the Latino Rights, and La Raza movements, new labor consciousness and demands, communist and socialst movements, the world anti nuclear arms movement, the women’s movements, the gay and queer liberation movement, and many others–seeking our rightful human conditions of material security, peace and spiritual self expression for all–inhabiting together a treasured mother Earth.

Central to this post war period was the bitter struggle over a true telling of “American” history, as we tried to tear away the bloody shroud of a disintegrating (racist) narrative which falsely declared all US wars (from one of the most bellicose countries on earth) were liberty seeking (as opposed to establishing slavery), when we saw how the Vietnam war was actually a war fought to gain dominion and empire (in forms new and different from the old European empires, but just as much seeking global hegemony and stolen wealth, supported by armies of conquest.).

We learned to tell the story of this country, not from the self congratulation of its boasts of democractic prosperity and freedom, but instead as a long history of constant oppression (everywhere contested), when only a minority could have the privileges they called freedom and wealth, extending beyond them in small circles of collaboration. Where people were indoctrinated and prosyletized into an eschatological American dream of exceptionalism and the end of history, re-imagining freedom and (the pursuit of) happiness as consumption and spectacle satiation, this land of artifice and submission as prosperity and expansion of life, refusing to see the realities of ongoing structures of jim crow lynching and racism, corrupting and oppressing capitalism, and the increasing danger of the poisoning of the earth itself.

We instead learned in an epiphany of conversion, the history of the world should be told by those conquered, not by the conquerors, colonialism should be the past, not the future, the atom bomb was invented to threaten all the world, not to bring peace to the world–and it should be abolished

This period was revolutionary and world wide, and we are still fighting for the story of the world’s future in many of the same terms, with an increasing urgency as the white nations grow weaker and smaller and more violent, and as the world, so long so irrationally plundered and poisoned, threatens to expire as a home for human life and vast numbers of other creatures.

We fight for truth telling, for dismantling of the grandstands and bunting of bombastic empire, for the retrieval of a universal global human name from the archaic structures of empires, nation states, strongholds of boundaried tribes, “races”. We seek a release of an equally blessed and expressed humanity, together solving our problems, together seeking a future imaginary for the human project.

We will not honor warriors of the world which must end if we are to survive, warriors who try to keep their unjust world from ending, to bring back slavery and to riddle us all with the chaos of war among ourselves, white nation commanding warriors who would kill to maintain their exalted name and moribund authority, who feared the creative chaos of all the world as one, no masters, no slaves, no privileges, instead liberty (and dare we say it: love) for all.

And the Vietnam war (including the sham heroic John McCain) meant carnage, brutality and death: seek and destroy missions against whole villages of farmers–men, women and children, non combatants and combatants alike, looking for the “yellow peril” enemy, who could increasingly only be found submerged among the general, not military, population, massive bombardment of the entirety of Southeast Asia, the target ever more deeply rooted and mingled within the annihilation of the people in history, entire populations, the real human beings in history, where living populations of these countries became themselves the ideas to be defeated, by being killed without distinction, dehumanized populations becoming in total the abstract enemy, the gooks. No longer human beings, and couldn’t that description be simultaneously achieved by the same means as was used in the mother country to justify the enslavement of Africans?: the narrative of racism, the white supremacy race as the only true humans? (John McCain said I hate the gooks and I will hate them as long as I live, while Martin Luther King, Jr, identified the Vietnam War as a racist enterprise.) When your humanity gone from consideration, everything else is possible to do to you.

I will not participate in raising new dissembling Confederate generals monuments; I will name John McCain for the white nation warrior he was. Tear his statue down--before it goes up."

During a live interview on Fox and Friends Thursday morning, Senator John McCain stunned the hosts with the bombshell that he’s leaving the Republican party. After being asked if he was still skeptical of President Trump, McCain said:

“I am and always will be opposed to Donald trump. In fact, I’ve decided that any party that supports him supports the worst America has to offer. For that reason, I’m leaving the GOP and caucusing as an Independent with the Democrats.”

Steve Doocy, who was visibly shaken, told McCain he was committing political suicide. McCain just laughed. He then took off his microphone and ended the interview.

This is bad news for the party, since the gap to retake the senate just became a little bit smaller. On the other hand, is it better to know your enemies rather than continue to pretend they’re on your side? Probably.

Scott Dworkin, Co-founder of the Democratic Coalition, recently released over 400 legally obtained Trump documents. After sifting through the them, Dworkin has put together a money trail using the documents that ties Russian money to several top Republican leaders.

The information therein is quite damning for the GOP stalwarts involved, and also further paints an incriminating picture of the Trump administration as related to possible Russian collusion.

Senate Armed Services Chairman John McCain this weekend called for a select committee — the same kind of panel that investigated Watergate and, more recently, probed the Benghazi attacks in the midst of the election season. MCCAIN WAS WILLING TO STAND UP AND FOLLOW THE PATH LESS TRAVELED, RATHER THAN JUST GO ALONG 

He was against the pardon of Joe Arpaio, who illegally profiled Latinos and undermined the respect for the rule of law. 

“If his death could cause us all to reflect on the way the Senate used to be and try to honor his legacy by not trying to constantly score partisan political points but rather work together for the good of the country, I can think of no finer legacy for John McCain,” she told a Maine radio station.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) read part of McCain’s farwell statement from the Senate floor and praised him as being able to transcend partisan battle lines.

“We can honor him by trying to carry out the principles he lived by. We can try, as he did, to put country before party. We can try, as he always did, to speak truth to power,” Schumer said. “And we can try … to restore the Senate to its rightful place in our national political life.”


He did not like it when Republicans tried to do an end run around the rule of law in the Senate and House, so he blocked legislation when they tried to do it. 


MCCAIN ON GLOBAL WARMING AND CLIMATE CHANGE

First McCain was against believing in global warming, then he was for it, then he was in denial about it again, just like Trump.

Between 2000 and 2008 in particular, he focused on the issue and tangibly shifted the political dynamic. He convened hearings on climate change in 2000, and in 2003 introduced bipartisan legislation with Democratic Sen. Joe Lieberman to pass a cap and trade system that would have limited US carbon emissions. Before the topic was popular or mainstream, he bucked his own party to insist that citizens and government “should be concerned about mounting evidence that indicates that something is happening.” He demanded that his Senate colleagues listen to the scientific consensus.

McCain retreated from the subject not long after winning the Republican nomination for president in 2008, even coming out in support of expanded offshore oil drilling. Still, numerous leaders on climate change policy, from Al Gore’s former communications director to the president of the Environmental Defense Fund, remember McCain in this story as an important and influential voice.

Bottom line, McCain ended his life siding with the Republicans, who mostly deny global warming and climate change. Kudos for him deciding to be a 'realist' for a few years. What counts is staying with reality, not just flirting with it for awhile and then going back into denial.

McCain’s hero status from being a POW in North Vietnam is disputed by other POWs who say that he collaborated with the North Vietnamese.



















It was John McCain’s father, Admiral John McCain, who covered up the Israeli attack on the USS liberty that produced 208 US Navy casualties. Admiral Tom Moorer, Chief of Naval Operations and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told me that a real US Navy admiral would have resigned before he would participate in a shameful coverup at the expense of the lives of American service men.

Such a statement was so necessary one would have to say it was the finest moment the Not-So-Great Pumpkin has ever brought the American people. It goes without saying that the day Trump meets his twisted maker, all politically correct sentimentality for his passing must be resisted.

Donald Trump’s machometer for a war hero was whether or not they got caught. The phrase war hero is a paradox to begin with, so we must forgive the dull Cheeseball for his lackluster definition. His instincts were right. John McCain is no hero.

John McCain was a fierce Zionist, but such a trait is almost as American as apple pie. McCain, more than almost anybody else, pushed for more troops in Iraq. When George W. Bush caved and sent in 20,000 extra troops to Iraq in 2007, Democrats labeled the move “The McCain doctrine”. Americans even dumber than Bush II have begun to label Bush “reasonable”. The reasonable Bush talked of 50 years in Iraq, McCain raised him to 100. McCain was among the most enthusiastic advocates of war in Afghanistan as well. And like his buddy Barack across the aisle, he felt threatened by Libya’s success under Muammar Gaddafi. McCain’s virile posturing against Vladimir Putin has been just as eye-opening as Trump’s bromance with Putin.

There is a huge and negative price that US citizens are paying for supporting the military industrial complex with all of it's death and destruction globally. Trump is more of a war monger than even Obama was, and is dropping more bombs on more people than him. McCain was fine with all of that and voted to increase the corporate welfare and entitlements for huge war corporations.

(FAIR) — The Washington Post (8/27/18) published an op-ed by conservative staff opinion columnist Jennifer Rubin praising the late Sen. John McCain for his supposed commitment to “human rights.”

Rubin waxed poetic on the ostensible “lost champion” of human rights, who “model[ed] for others the behavior of a free society.” She declared, quite paradoxically, “With the possible exception of the US military…no group was more indebted to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) than the human rights community.”

There was an, er, optical problem, however: For the header image on this column, the Washington Post used a photo of McCain speaking next to the notorious Ukrainian neo-Nazi leader Oleh Tyahnybok.

McCain’s visceral resentment informed his vocal support for the mujahedin as well as the right-wing contra death squads in Central America — any proxy group sworn to the destruction of communist governments.

So committed was McCain to the anti-communist cause that in the mid-1980s he had joined the advisory board of the United States Council for World Freedom, the American affiliate of the World Anti-Communist League (WACL). Geoffrey Stewart-Smith, a former leader of WACL’s British chapter who had turned against the group in 1974, described the organization as “a collection of Nazis, fascists, anti-Semites, sellers of forgeries, vicious racialists, and corrupt self-seekers. It has evolved into an anti-Semitic international.”

Joining McCain in the organization were notables such as Jaroslav Stetsko, the Croatian Nazi collaborator who helped oversee the extermination of 7,000 Jews in 1941; the brutal Argentinian former dictator Jorge Rafael Videla; and Guatemalan death squad leader Mario Sandoval Alarcon. Then-President Ronald Reagan honored the group for playing“a leadership role in drawing attention to the gallant struggle now being waged by the true freedom fighters of our day.”

As if to underline the U.S. role in the murder, the following day Ukrainian President Poroshenko stood side by side with NATO head Jens Stoltenberg at the Washington funeral of war criminal Sen. John McCain, who was part of the bipartisan bloc that helped bring the Ukrainian junta to power during the Barack Obama administration. (Interfax-Ukraine, Sept. 3) McCain famously shared a platform with Ukrainian fascist Oleh Tyanybok in Kiev before the 2014 coup.

So it’s important to ask: Why was Zakharchenko assassinated now, and in this way?

Of course, an attack like this is meant to sow fear in the residents of Donbass and shake confidence in the government of the anti-fascist republic. In this respect it failed, as shown by the defiant mass outpouring for Zakharchenko’s funeral.

But the attack must also be seen in an international context.

Zakharchenko’s assassination came as the Syrian Army, with support from its Russian, Iranian and Hezbollah allies, moves to retake Idlib province, one of the last strongholds of the Western-backed contra armies in Syria. (See article by Karin Leukefeld in Junge Welt Aug. 30 / workers.org Sept. 1)

To his credit, McCain said Confederate flags and monuments should come down and not be flown.

But McCain historically has been on the side of racists and Confederate' viewpoints. What would a true Confederate believe about minorities and the S. Africa Apartheid?

McCain notably never backed away from calling his Vietnamese captors “gooks” and into the 1980s voted against sanctions on apartheid South Africa and against making Martin Luther King’s birthday a national holiday.

James W. Loewen, author of Lies My Teacher Told Me, states that while monuments to Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson abounded in the U,S., only recently was a statue to James Longstreet dedicated at Gettysburg, though he was second in the Confederate command there. Loewen notes: Longstreet would embrace equality for African Americans.

Similarly, U.S. military veterans who fought in Vietnam and who spoke out against U.S. militarism have either backtracked from a serious critique of it — like John Kerry — or been remarkably marginalized by the political and media establishment.

And it is the marginalization of such principled veterans, the victims and consistent critics of those wars that helps keep the wars going.

Much of what the military industrial complex does globally is 'racist', because the targeted killings and drone assassinations are largely focused on 'other' religions, skin colors, and belief systems, via an unconscious projected hate and fear, which is in essence the trap that McCain was creating for himself. 

McCain might have tried to be 'honest', but bombing innocent civilians is just murder, and doing what he did to other skin colors, religions and belief systems via illegal attacks, occupations and overthrows of governments is really more about being racist, xenophobic and bigoted. 

White supremacy, white privilege, racism and xenophobia expresses itself in many ways, often through racist anti communism, which serves as a 'cover story' that seems legitimate at first glance. But once one scratches below the surface, where the Neo Nazis wage their anti Communist war, it is really just about racism, bigotry, xenophobia and other forms of fear/hatred.

But McCain seemingly never lost sight of his hatred for Bashar Al-Assad.

MEDEA BENJAMIN: Yes. We had constantly been lobbying John McCain to not support all these wars. Amy, I think it’s so horrible to be calling somebody a war hero because he participated in the bombing of Vietnam. I just spent the last weekend with Veterans for Peace, people who are atoning for their sins in Vietnam by trying to stop new wars. John McCain hasn’t done that. With his life, what he did was support wars from not only Iraq, but also Libya. He called John Kerry delusional for trying to make a nuclear deal with Iran, and threw his lot in with the MEK, the extremist group in Iran. He also was a good friend of Mohammad bin Salman and the Saudis. There was a gala for the Saudis in May when the crown prince was visiting, and they had a special award for John McCain. He supported the Saudi bombing in Yemen that has been so catastrophic. And I think we have to think that those who have participated in war are really heroes if they spend the rest of their lives trying to stop war, not like John McCain, who spent the rest of his life supporting war.

What is the difference between Democrats and Republicans? McCain switched 'sides', but what difference did that actually make? 



















While McCain was opposed to torture, he was just another in a long line of war mongers, and sponsors of terrorism. It does not matter whether one is a liberal or conservative, war always throws out the seeds for the next war.

McCain is a good example of someone who believes that one war always leads and justifies the next one, in a never ending fashion. Both Neocons like Trump and Neoliberals like McCain justify never ending wars. Both Trump and McCain are acting as official US government state sponsors of terrorists, while condemning other countries who all do the same thing. 

The US military industrial complex, led by warmongering people like McCain, can always justify killing civilians and children in many foreign countries, due to (fill in the blank) reasons.

It is sad he died of brain cancer, but let his record speak for itself, without sugar coating it.

Rights that eventually led to humanitarian ideals. Ideals of public education, libraries, national parks. Rights that came from hard fought battles for public health and consumer protections. Frameworks for safe work environments. Habeas corpus. Making child labor and exploitation illegal. There is a big difference between John Lockes ideals and Ayn Rand fascism

3. Following the KOCH BROTHERS philosophy of absolute domination of the country, by the corporate monopolies and billionaire class. The corporate interests. Mussolini put it this way, extreme corporatism.

4. Dissolution of protections of the public, from corporate abuse and criminality. Corporate person hood. Citizens united. Like trumps proposal to abolish all EPA laws, created to keep corporations from poisoning us to death. Trumps abandonment of regulations, even for nuclear power plants and nuclear waste. Such absurd irresponsibility and malevolence in the face of fukushima. Trump supports Abe and, his export of radioactive food. Abes reopening of dangerous reactors un Japan.

5. Dissolution of protection of life support systems on the planet. Subsidizing and encouraging corporations, in the country to further pollute, with massive hydrocarbon burning. Quadrillions of gasoline yearly. They encourage and, subsidize the ongoing ubiquitous poisoning of our water with fracking and pesticides. They encourage fascist government over-reach in subsidizing coal, oil, nuclear, while regulating renewables out of existence.

6. They say you can trust the corporations to shutdown reactors and cleanup nuclear waste. A horrible lie. They never do. Corporations always walk away or declare bankruptcy . They simply leave the shit there to poison everyone.

Look at San Onofre or in the St Louis landfill. As long as there are nuclear bombs there will be nuclear reactors in America.

The corporations keep lobbying to keep the worse nuclear reactors, open. These same crooked nuclear corporations, say the lights will go out without the nuclear reactors. They rig the system, against Renewables. Renewables could be an economic Renaissance in america, but the radionuclide Apocalypse is encouraged and fully funded to make the elites more rich.

7. Extreme climate denial, to the point of clownish-nonsensical propaganda and cultish conspiracy memes.

8. More racism through propaganda memes, like cultural Marxism.

9. The cultivation of consumer and ownership society society meme. A meme. that does not come close to giving people ownership, only more wall street scams and banking bubbles.

10. The enforcement of their fake laissez-faire economic principals on the rest of the world. It is done through murderous strong-arming and nuclear threats . They say, they are anti-big government yet, they somehow always have a justification for nuclear weapons.

All for the promotion of their brand of extreme exploitative and extractive capitalism. The capitalism, they claim that is necessary, for liberty .

11. They hypocritically, fund the huge military industrial complex and the deep state that goes with it. They lie about how much it costs. They fund it, through the enslavement of many Americans.

A massive complex, that involves nuclear reactors. Nuclear reactors are necessary, to continue producing nuclear weapons of mass destruction, that can never really be used. They have justified their nuclear bombs and military complex, nuclear reactors, in the past as a means to interfere in other countries politics.

Other countries politics, that they do not consider capitalistic or neoliberal enough.

The ramifications of nuclear armament, entail maintaining, a massive infrastructure to create nuclear weapons. A massive-military industrial complex and weapons complex, for nuclear weapon logistics.
Nuclear weapons that can never really be used. All done, to maintain the illusion, to the many, of their superiority, power and material wealth on the world stage.

12. All in all, the altright-new-world-order is not so completely different, from the new world order, first proposed by George Bush Senior and, carried on till trump. Just a lot more lies, bullshit and malevolence to it. with the most base racism, exploitation, meanness and fraud to carry it along.

13. Disregard for nature, and natures most beautiful creatures. The embellishment of the wholesale slaughter of the last of earths most splendid creatures: Grizzlies, lions, wolves, buffalo's, caribou, mountain lions, giraffe etc etc"

SUMMARY

McCain spent much of his life inside of fear, anger and hatred, fighting against 'enemies' both within and without.

He tried to kill all of those enemies by forming alliances and supporting terrorists, who then grew in strength and power.

The problem with spending a lifetime on fighting hatred with hatred is that it only GROWS the darkness. His hatred for 'other' was palpable, and he went to the EXTREME to fight those enemies. But the enemy was actually within him, in the form of unconscious fear, anger and hatred. That hatred ate him inside and was projected out into the world via doublethink and projection.

Here is how it works...


Bottom line, McCain believed he was doing good work and was well intentioned, but he was trapped inside of the delusion of fear, greed, darkness and hatred, just like most US politicians are, who vote for more war, more killing, more hatred of 'other'.

Quit voting for the lesser of two evils, inside of projected fear and hatred of 'other'. 


VOTE!

Vote only for those candidates who pledge to end all wars, and who take no corporate money, and who are not 'fake' populists or fake billionaires, like Trump. Vote out of love, not fear, anger or hatred.

As things move more and more to the 'right' side of things, fascism grows.. due in large part to all of those millions of people voting out of fear and hatred, for the lesser evil.


Is there any proof that there are full blown Nazis in US government? Hmmmmm, well, yes...
