THE MISSILE ALERT IN HAWAII: THIRTY-EIGHT MINUTES OF CHAOS
A false report of an impending ballistic missile attack on Hawaii on Saturday sent more than one million people fleeing to shelter, with many believing they only had minutes to live before nuclear incineration. People sought refuge in highway tunnels, underground parking garages and basements, and even lowered their children into sewer manholes. There were harrowing conversations, as people made what they thought could be their final phone calls to loved ones.

The alert, issued by the state of Hawaii’s Emergency Management Agency, delivered a stark message to most cell phones throughout the island chain: “Emergency Alert: BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.” The alert was immediately rebroadcast by local television and radio stations under longstanding arrangements that place the media at the service of the military in the event of war.

Why did it take close to an hour to send out a cancellation of the alert, when they knew immediately that they had made a mistake and pushed the button for no reason?

There is no excuse for this, both on the initial false alert, and on the 40 minutes it took for the retraction.

This was not just an innocent mistake as the government officials involved claimed, or they would have immediately retracted it.

Just four days after residents of Hawaii lived through 38 minutes of doomsday hell, after a false public broadcast alarm announced that a ballistic missile launch was headed for the island, only to reverse and announce later it was a mistake, moments ago Japan’s National broadcaster NHK’s app issued a false J-Alert to phones over a North Korean missile launch at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday evening local time.

The message, received by phone users with the NHK app installed on their devices, read: “NHK news alert. North Korea likely to have launched missile. The government J alert: evacuate inside the building or underground. “

Both of these 'false alerts' were not accidental or just a coincidence. Let's explore why...

THIS IS NOT A LAUGHING MATTER; MANY PEOPLE THOUGHT IT WAS THE END OF THE WORLD AND THEIR LAST MINUTES ON EARTH




WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE TOLD BY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SERVICES OR HOMELAND SECURITY THAT NUCLEAR MISSILES WERE ON THE WAY EXACTLY TO WHERE YOU ARE, AND YOU HAD ONLY MINUTES TO LIVE? 

Nuclear missiles do not keep anyone 'safe'. As these false alarms prove, they only create more fear, hatred and distrust on all sides and the leaders on both sides are increasing the war rhetoric by baiting each other, with each side claiming that they have a bigger nuclear button.. This type of war mongering talk does not lead to peace. Instead, this kind of baiting and belittling leads to war, and in this case, it could easily start a global nuclear war. 


Rather than reducing the risk of nuclear war by dismantling nuclear weapons, Trump wants to ramp up the nuclear arsenal and start another Cold War, with each side claiming that they have the 'biggest' or the 'baddest' nuclear weapons.

All despots and dictators want more weapons, bigger weapons and more funding for war. The consequence of building up the military industrial complex is that fascism is the result.


WHAT HAPPENS IF THE 400 NUCLEAR PLANTS AROUND THE WORLD ARE DESTROYED AND LIBERATE THEIR NUCLEAR FUEL CONTENTS? 

Both Russia and the US have 7,500 nuclear bombs. But this is nothing compared to an even worse fact that most people are totally ignorant of, including the military industrial complex, which believes it can 'win' a nuclear war, because nuclear bombs are just like ordinary bullets.

Ever since Germany had inflicted defeat upon France in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71, the major nations of Europe had busied themselves with plans for the next war, seen by many as inevitable given the conflicting ambitions of the major powers; which, in the case of France, included the repossession of Alsace and Lorraine, both lost to Germany as a consequence of the Franco-Prussian War.

THE PLANNING OF WORLD WAR III


Japan has a pacifist Constitution, which does not allow them to do a 'first strike' like the US. Any authoritarian regime has to whip up the fear and hatred in order to get people to go to war. What is the best way to do this? With North Korea, they are not going to cross and ocean and invade anyone, so the best way to whip up the fear, hatred and hysteria is to feature constant, never ending mass media stories around the nuclear missiles that North Korea is developing and testing, as is happening now. Then the mass media must whip up the fear even more with false missile launch alert's, as is happening now. 

Then when the authoritarian leader launches a 'first strike' whether with nuclear or a conventional attack on North Korea, it will seem entirely justified and all of those people who had to endure all of that panic and fear, will revel in the attack and applaud the supreme leader who launched it.

What the media failed to mention was that, for the last three weeks, Japan, South Korea and the US have been engaged in large-scale joint-military drills on Hokkaido Island and in South Korea. These needlessly provocative war games are designed to simulate an invasion of North Korea and a “decapitation” operation to remove (Re: Kill) the regime. North Korea’s supreme leader, Kim Jong-un has asked the US repeatedly to end these military exercises, but the US has stubbornly refused. Monday’s missile test (which flew over Hokkaido Island) was conducted just hours after the war games ended. The message was clear: The North is not going to be publicly humiliated and slapped around without responding. Rather than show weakness, the North demonstrated that it was prepared to defend itself against foreign aggression. In other words, the test was NOT a “bold and provocative act” (as the media stated) but a modest and well thought-out response by a country that has experienced 64 years of relentless hectoring, sanctions, demonization and saber rattling by Washington. The North responded because the Washington’s incitements required a response. End of story.

There were people who thought that Ivanka might convince her daddy dearest that climate change wasn’t a Chinese hoax, or that women were also human beings. Nuh-uh.

But apparently he will fire missiles at her command.

“Ivanka is a mother of three kids and she has influence,” Eric Trump said, speaking with the newspaper at Trump Turnberry golf resort in Ayrshire, Scotland. “I’m sure she said, ‘Listen, this is horrible stuff.’ My father will act in times like that.”

Putting a nuclear missile launch button in the hands of an unstable leader like Trump is a very bad idea. No one can stop him if he decides to launch an attack on anyone, just because one of his family members tells him to, or because they got upset.

In his opening graf, Peters said it would be better for a million North Koreans to die if it could spare a thousand American lives.

Many fundamentalist evangelical religious leaders are also calling for Trump to nuke North Korea, and saying that this is what God wants.

TRUMP REGIME ON THE VERGE OF OKAYING TWO NEW WARHEADS THAT COULD MAKE NUCLEAR WAR MORE LIKELY
As has been reported since last summer, the Trump regime seeks to build two new nuclear weapons, one of which—a low-yield warhead for submarine-launched ballistic missiles—could make nuclear war more likely, say critics. The other warhead would be developed to be carried by submarine-launched cruise missiles, which haven’t been equipped with nukes since 2010.

Developing and building these new nukes are elements included in the not-yet-finalized 2018 Nuclear Posture Review. The last NPR was released in 2010. If approved by Pr*sident Trump, a move which is expected later this month, it would mark a significant change from the Obama era when the emphasis on nukes as part of U.S. strategy was reduced.

That white dot shows the Hiroshima blast, and the red surrounding it is the explosive power of the W78 workhorse bomb that is currently fitted on 149 of the 399 land-based U.S. ICBMS. The Union of Concerned Scientists that created the image note that the W78 has a yield of at least 335 kilotons; Hiroshima was 14-15kt. In addition to the ICBMs, the U.S. has hundreds of missiles equipped with the W76 warhead at 100 kilotons, and the W88 at 475kt (31 times as powerful as the Hiroshima bomb).
Advocates of installing the lower-yield warhead on the submarine-launched Trident ballistic missile say it is a good thing specifically because it would mean the warhead would be more usable. Currently they complain, there is reluctance to actually launch any nuclear-tipped missiles because their yields make them so incredibly destructive. In other words, having a lower-yield weapon at hand would make it easier to “push the button.”
