Up To 58,000 Square Miles Of Forest Lost To Forest Fires, Clearcutting, And Desertification Globally Each Year, Equivalent of 36 Football Fields Every Minute, Cutting Out The Lungs Of Earth, Decreasing Oxygen Production, Increasing CO2 - Sustainable Forest Management Solutions

IT IS TIME TO DECLARE A GLOBAL EMERGENCY AND THEN TAKE TRANSFORMATIVE ACTIONS

HUMANITY WAS GIVEN PARADISE ON EARTH; MATURE OLD GROWTH FORESTS FULL OF FRESH, CLEAN AND PURE DRINKING WATER, A LAND FULL OF TREES, ANIMALS, BIRDS PLUS FISH SO ABUNDANT THAT NO ONE WENT HUNGRY

Humanity started with an earthly version of PARADISE. Millions of buffalo roamed across the prairies, free and wild. Hundreds of millions of birds created dark shadows by day as the huge flocks flew together and blocked out the sun shining on the Native Americans living below. Fish were so abundant in the streams and rivers that no one ever went hungry. Millions of salmon migrated up just about every river multiple times per year.

The forest was a magical, mysterious place. Indigenous people by the millions lived in harmony with Nature and all of these animals and mature old growth forests for tens of thousands of years, before illegal undocumented white immigrants forced them out or killed them. The First Peoples had no jails, no mentally ill. They did not need vaccines, or jails. They did not have passports, citizenship, ID tests for voting, or homeless people. Everyone was fed, educated, clothed, and housed. They did not create toxic nuclear or chemical waste. They did not kill the environment, create hundreds of thousands of toxic heavy metal radioactive poisons or cause global warming. They did not clear cut forests, and they did not do trophy hunting. They took only what they needed and held the rest in sacred trust for seven future generations.

Things have changed for the MUCH worse since the illegal, white, undocumented, foreigners committed rape, murder, theft, and genocide against the original long term 'citizens' living on the American continent. Those white skinned illegals refused to learn the native citizens language, refused to adopt their customs, refused to adopt their language, beliefs or focus on seven generations. The result has been a huge amount of negative consequences.

Can you imagine 'raking' 800 million acres of forest by hand every month, collecting the leaves, branches and pine needles, then disposing of them, and what that would cost? Where would all of that green waste go? Maybe a giant robot vacuum cleaner would do a better job? (sarcasm)

THE WORLD NEEDS MUCH MORE THAN 'RAKING' FORESTS TO MITIGATE GLOBAL WARMING GASES SUCH AS CO2; FORESTED AREAS ARE RAPIDLY BEING CONVERTED TO FACTORY FARMING, WHICH USES HIGH AMOUNTS OF CARBON FUEL, PLUS INCREASES GLOBAL WARMING AND DROUGHTS

Late Night with Seth Meyers - Trump's Weird Lie About Raking in Finland: A Closer Look

The United States as a percent of world totals for selected measures. In 1630, the estimated area of U.S. forest land was 1,023 million acres or about 46 percent of the total land area. Since 1630, about 256 million acres of for- est land have been converted to other uses—mainly agricultural.

As forest fires increase in size, strength, intensity, and lethality over time, they are also becoming more toxic, because the smoke from forest fires now contains a mixture of deadly heavy metal and radioactive poisons, thanks in part to the nuclear industry.

Hell Hath No Fury Like Raging California Wildfires – Astute News
As of November 11, an astonishing 7,579 fires are burning, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and the National Interagency Fire Center – costing around $3 billion in destruction and damage so far.

According to Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR), smoke and ash from wildfires likely spread radiological and chemical contamination already in soil and vegetation near the Santa Susana Field Laboratory, (SSFL) – a statement by Dr. Robert Dodge saying:

“We know what substances are on the site and how hazardous they are. We’re talking about incredibly dangerous radionuclides and toxic chemicals such a trichloroethylene, perchlorate, dioxins and heavy metals.”

“These toxic materials are in SSFL’s soil and vegetation, and when it burns and becomes airborne in smoke and ash, there is a real possibility of heightened exposure for area residents.”

Forests Need more than Raking | Climate Denial Crock of the Week
The study, published on Wednesday in Science Advances, found that natural solutions to global warming could offset the amount of pollution equivalent to what’s released from every car and truck on the road in the nation. Along with forests, coastal ecosystems, grasslands, and farmland all have the potential to sop up a significant portion of the world’s greenhouse gases. The study, which involved 38 researchers, looked at 21 different natural measures that could prove essential in the unfolding climate catastrophe.

“The overall magnitude of the potential was really surprising to me,” said Joseph Fargione, the principal author on the study and The Nature Conservatory’s director of science for North America. “There are a lot of things people may not realize have the potential to store carbon and contribute to solving climate change.”

Fargione noted that natural solutions don’t just trap carbon but come with co-benefits to human health and the ecosystem. For example, rotating cover crops (plants grown in the off-season to protect the soil), can store half a ton of CO2 per every acre. On top of that, cover crops can build soil health, hold onto nutrients, and reduce nutrient and sediment pollutions.

Reforestation topped the list of the biggest carbon sinks, with an absorption potential equivalent to taking 65 million passenger cars off the road. Forest and fire management, such as biomass thinning and prescribed burns, go hand-in-hand with reforestation efforts. Given that trees are such excellent carbon sinks, they also run the risk of releasing all that carbon when burned in catastrophic wildfires, like the ones currently raging across California. Fargione said that restoring the natural fire regime could prevent major carbon loss and, more importantly, “save homes, save lives, and improve air quality.”

AS GLOBAL WARMING INCREASES, THE NUMBER, FREQUENCY AND INTENSITY OF DISASTERS WILL INCREASE; CITIES WILL FACE UP TO SIX OR MORE CLIMATE DISASTERS AT ONCE

With Scores Dead and 1,000+ Missing in California Fires, New Study Warns Cities Will Soon Face Up to Six Climate Disasters at Once

“We cannot accept the tragic loss of life and displacement from these wildfires as the new normal. We must honor the victims now by fighting for a better and safer tomorrow.”
by Julia Conley, staff writer

While one-at-a-time disasters fueled by a rapidly warming planet have become commonplace in recent years—with the ongoing and deadly wildfires in California just one example—new research shows that by century’s end the frightening new normal could be cities and states facing multiple extreme climate events all at once.

Researchers at the University of Hawaii found that without keeping the warming of the planet below two degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, major cities like New York, Sydney, and Rio de Janeiro could soon face up to five catastrophic weather events in a single year—including wildfires, hurricanes, storm surges, and droughts.

The phenomenon has already taken place, the report notes, with Florida experiencing more than 100 wildfires, drought, and the severely destructive Hurricane Michael in the past year—but with most news reports and climate researchers focusing on one disastrous weather event at a time, the current reality has been obscured.

“The costs of inaction greatly outweigh the costs of taking action on climate change. We can still reduce future damage and suffering if we act quickly and dramatically to reduce carbon emissions.” —Michael Mann, climatologist
“A focus on one or few hazards may mask the impacts of other hazards, resulting in incomplete assessments of the consequences of climate change on humanity,” lead author Camilo Mora told the Agence France Presse.

The report only bolsters the argument of those forced to issue urgent action demands in the wake of whatever climate-related disaster has most recently struck. In the U.S. right now, that means the unprecedented wildfires that have ravaged California in recent weeks.

“The costs of inaction greatly outweigh the costs of taking action on climate change,” Michael Mann, a climatologist at Penn State University, told the AFP. “We can still reduce future damage and suffering if we act quickly and dramatically to reduce carbon emissions.”

At least 80 people have been killed in the fires, with nearly 1,000 unaccounted for as of Tueasday morning, according to NBC.

“An untold number of people lost their lives due to the Camp Fire wildfire in California, many are missing and communities have been destroyed. Last week, the air quality in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay were the worst on the planet,” said Abigail Dillen, president of Earthjustice, in a statement.

“The increasing risks make it clear that this nation must deepen its commitment to stemming climate change now. We cannot accept the tragic loss of life and displacement from these wildfires as the new normal,” she continued. “We must honor the victims now by fighting for a better and safer tomorrow for their families and communities.”

One far-reaching solution was the subject of direct actions in lawmakers’ offices across the country on Tuesday, as the youth-led climate action group Sunrise Movement demanded that Democrats back the Green New Deal—a bold set of proposals modeled on the Depression-era New Deal and aimed at investing in carbon-free energy infrastructure and the millions of jobs it would create.

“It’s these kinds of social movement actions that we know can change the zeitgeist,” May Boeve, executive director of 350.org, told The Real News last week. “And we can’t always be talking about what we don’t want. That is why the Green New Deal is so essential, because it’s about the future we need to build…and that is, I think, a way of really capturing that we can do better.”

Proactive measures to combat the climate crisis will have far-reaching effects on the quality of life enjoyed by people all over the world, said Jonathan Patz, one of the authors of the University of Hawaii’s study—not just the effect of avoiding destructive wildfires, hurricanes, and floods.

“Our health depends on multiple factors, from clean air and water, to safe food and shelter,” Patz told the AFP. “If we only consider the most direct threats from climate change—heatwaves or severe storms, for example—we inevitably will be blindsided by even larger threats that, in combination, can have even broader societal impacts.” This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 License

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER FEAR, HATRED, GREED AND LUST FOR POWER COMES INTO THE PICTURE?

Predatory capitalism loves slave labor, working for free. Is it surprising that the corporate owned pro capitalism mass media almost never mentions this?

California fires are crises of capitalism | Moorbey’z Blog
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation program pays inmates $1 to $2 a day to fight active fires, plus time off their sentences. Over 2,500 prisoners are risking their lives battling fires across the state. (tinyurl.com/ydbus2at and tinyurl.com/ydy9colb)

By using this “volunteer” prison labor, the state says it saves $90 million to $100 million a year. It also claims to help inmates learn new skills while working in a team environment. Of course, no jobs in this field are guaranteed for ex-prisoners.

Trump continues to deny that human behavior produces global warming and that this is a major cause of more incidences of drought. The vegetation becomes dry and flammable, providing more fuel for fires. Poorly laid electrical lines may start a fire and then Santa Ana winds spread it.

California wildfires are symptoms of a crisis in capitalism. Exploitation and disregard for the land and resources and for poor and working people have created this annual terror residents experience.

Yet, the most oppressed have already provided the answers. In California, vacant homes outnumber the homeless population. Activists demand that we fill the homes we have instead of feeding the real estate bubble.

Activists also call for paying the workers — the poor and incarcerated firefighters — the wages they deserve instead of exploiting their labor and costing them their health and ultimately their lives.

What happened after greed entered the picture? Our wild forests are now little more than an artificially manufactured, manicured and chemical sprayed monoculture, controlled as a FOR PROFIT CROP that is 'owned' by private for profit corporations, even if the forested lands underneath them are technically 98 percent 'owned' by the federal government.

Yet, the fact that most forests are 98 percent 'owned' by the US government in one way or another, does not make any difference to President Trump, who blames 'California' for the forest fires.

Right wing blogs and experts blame environmentalists and the 'government' for girdling trees and spraying them with chemicals to kill them. Yet they fail to realize that they are now the very government that they are critics of. Other right wing conspiracy experts blame energy weapons for starting fires and for killing people in cars.

Bottom line, greed is what causes most of the gross mismanagement by that same federal and state government that Trump oversees and is responsible for, as acting 'CEO' of the USA. Since those burning forested lands are 98 percent 'owned' and controlled by the federal government that Trump is in charge of, the responsibility for these huge fires actually lands directly on the desk of Trump.

The current model of forest 'conservation' consists of a greed based clear cutting of mature old growth forests. The official 'plan' consists of growing a monoculture of a CASH monoculture crop, and that creates the many problems now being experienced, just like the problems created by huge factory farms growing GMO foods.
VIDEO: https://youtu.be/OgN2PFAEtGM

How and why does forest mismanagement work? FAKE 'Conservation' means suppression of all fires using artificial man made chemicals, fire fighters and very expensive man power. Only one kind of tree is allowed that produces maximum profits. The 'wildness', magic and mystery of a wild mature old growth forest with thousands of interlocking synergistic species has been gotten rid of. Forests are now seen and managed as for profit 'farms' that grow trees. Any other living things are ignored, denied, killed or gotten rid of.

In the near future, robot machines clearcut huge swaths of forest. Clear cutting leaves the soil exposed to the rain, so it can wash away, leaving only much more fire prone brush, grass and weeds. Forests are going, going, gone, with the help of huge machines, that are all computer controlled. Soon, humans will not be needed at all, and robots with the help of computers can clearcut entire forests, leaving only desertified scrub brush in their wake.
VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbRlmFNRlSk

In the US, TV shows are celebrating the clear cutting of wild forests and the profiting off of a natural 'free' resource. One such show is called 'Swamp Logger'. In reality, what they are airing is a war against Nature, because clear cutting is not natural, and it creates huge negative repercussions in all kinds of directions.

The war against other humans, against women, workers, and Nature continues on, as the graveyards fill up...

Zinke rips 'radical environmental groups' over California fires
Chad Hanson, a research ecologist with the John Muir Project and a national director of the Sierra Club, has pushed back against the Trump administration's reasoning for the devastation.
"It is deeply troubling that Trump and his administration would support logging as a way to curb fires when studies have shown it's ineffective," Hanson wrote in a CNN op-ed over the weekend. "In the most comprehensive scientific analysis conducted on the issue of forest management and fire intensity -- which looked at more than 1,500 fires on tens of millions of acres across the Western United States over three decades -- we found that forests with the fewest environmental protections and the most logging actually tend to burn much more intensely, not less."

“Predatory delay” – how the fossil fuel industries created and maintained climate change denialism « Antinuclear
NOVEMBER 19, 2018 A GREEN ROAD DAILY NEWS LEAVE A COMMENT
As journalists at InsideClimate News and the Los Angeles Times have revealed since 2015, Exxon, the world’s largest oil company, understood that its product was contributing to climate change a decade before Hansen testified. In July, 1977, James F. Black, one of Exxon’s senior scientists, addressed many of the company’s top leaders in New York, explaining the earliest research on the greenhouse effect. “There is general scientific agreement that the most likely manner in which mankind is influencing the global climate is through carbon-dioxide release from the burning of fossil fuels,” he said, according to a written version of the speech which was later recorded, and which was obtained by InsideClimate News. In 1978, speaking to the company’s executives, Black estimated that a doubling of the carbon-dioxide concentration in the atmosphere would increase average global temperatures by between two and three degrees Celsius (5.4 degrees Fahrenheit), and as much as ten degrees Celsius (eighteen degrees Fahrenheit) at the poles.

Exxon spent millions of dollars researching the problem. It outfitted an oil tanker, the Esso Atlantic, with CO2 detectors to measure how fast the oceans could absorb excess carbon, and hired mathematicians to build sophisticated climate models. By 1982, they had concluded that even the company’s earlier estimates were probably too low. In a private corporate primer, they wrote that heading off global warming and “potentially catastrophic events” would “require major reductions in fossil fuel combustion.”

An investigation by the L.A. Times revealed that Exxon executives took these warnings seriously. Ken Croasdale, a senior researcher for the company’s Canadian subsidiary, led a team that investigated the positive and negative effects of warming on Exxon’s Arctic operations. In 1991, he found that greenhouse gases were rising due to the burning of fossil fuels. “Nobody disputes this fact,” he said. The following year, he wrote that “global warming can only help lower exploration and development costs” in the Beaufort Sea. Drilling season in the Arctic, he correctly predicted, would increase from two months to as many as five months. At the same time, he said, the rise in the sea level could threaten onshore infrastructure and create bigger waves that would damage offshore drilling structures. Thawing permafrost could make the earth buckle and slide under buildings and pipelines. As a result of these findings, Exxon and other major oil companies began laying plans to move into the Arctic, and started to build their new drilling platforms with higher decks, to compensate for the anticipated rises in sea level.

GLOBAL WARMING IS CAUSING THE FORESTS TO DRY OUT, GET SICK AND DIE FROM DROUGHT AND HIGHER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES

Global warming is caused by fossil fuel and nuclear monopolies. Because the world is warming up, it is also drying out the world, due to higher temperatures all around the world. Hotter weather and longer months of dry summer weather cause a drying out of forests, and a weakening of trees, which are then prone to more diseases, insect attacks and drought damage.

Natural forest fires are 'controlled' and 'conserved' for maximum profit, with almost nothing spent on preventing forest fires, to the point where so much dry debris builds up in the forests, that when a fire does eventually break out, it destroys the whole forest. These days, forest fires often get so hot, that it literally bakes the ground, so no forest can ever grow there again. The huge amount of dry debris that builds up on the forest floor acts as a 'fire ladder' so that fire can climb high into the tree.

Because so much money is spent on fighting forest fires, less and less money is left over for clearing forest debris or dead wood out of forests. So much money is spent on generating profits via for profit corporations that end up with the lion's share of the profits, that the government plus taxpayers are left paying for everything that costs money, while letting huge corporations grab all of the profits.

Fuel ladders end up igniting pine needles on living green trees that are usually beyond the reach of the normal, historical forest fire that only burns on the ground, at low speeds, at a low temperature. Historically, for millions of years, forest fires ignited by lightning served to clear out the dead debris on the forest floor and keep the forest floor 'clean'.

Humanity is trying to 'control', tame and fight Nature. By not allowing natural forest fires, fuel loads build up in the forest, and that makes everything much worse. Controlled burns on a regular basis do help and even the Native Americans did that for thousands of years, but they only did it during the right time of year, when fires would barely ignite and the moisture levels were fairly high, so no fire would gain the momentum from ultra dry fuel to build up into a raging 200 foot high wall of flame going 50 miles per hour.  Fighting Nature does not work.

Controlling which species of trees grow and where they can grow is causing more long term damage than good. Planting monoculture 'farmed' forests is fighting Nature in just another way, just like chemical based factory farms, which do not work either long term. Monoculture forests require applications of chemicals on a frequent basis, just like chemical based factory farms, and that is also a way of fighting Nature, with all kinds of unintended negative consequences.

Bottom line, the pursuit of short term profits by chopping down all mature old growth trees is causing the more damage than good, and it taking away the best trees that do the best job of 'eating' global warming gases, such as CO2. Clear cutting forests is like cutting the lungs out of a human person, while they are still alive and young.

The Forest Service chart is provided below to give some kind of idea of the increasing cost of fighting forest fires, but even this chart is not accurate enough, because it does not give the full picture or enough history.

TRUMP IS PROMOTING A DOOMED AND FAILING FOSSIL FUEL AND NUCLEAR MONOPOLY WHICH ARE DESTROYING ALL LIFE ON THE PLANET; WHY?

Anyone investing in fossil fuel or nuclear power investments is asking for financial ruin and huge losses. Those who are promoting this doomed monopolistic cabal are hucksters and scam artists.

The Doom Of Fossil Fuel Investments | CleanTechnica
There is a very short window of time to get out of pure-play oil & gas company investments without substantial losses. It is imperative to sell them now.

It is already too late to get out of pure-play coal company investments without substantial losses. But they will lose even more money going forward.

Utility companies which have a heavy reliance on fossil fuels are also in trouble.

Diversified companies will lose money on their coal, oil, and gas portfolios, although this may not be significant enough to warrant getting out of a diversified company.

It will remain possible to do short-term swing trading in coal, oil, and gas companies with no future, but this is inappropriately risky behavior for a conservative investor.

You have been warned. Ignore this warning at your peril.

TRUMP IS REPLACING UNION GOVERNMENT FOREST SERVICE JOBS WITH FOR PROFIT, PRIVATIZED CORPORATIONS MAKING HUGE AND GROWING PROFITS OFF OF ARTIFICIAL MAN CREATED FOREST 'FARMS'

Under Trump, more and more permanent Forest Service government union employees are being eliminated. As huge cuts are happening in government agencies across the board, private for profit companies are now getting that same money, plus more. The war on unions and the social safety net continues, along with the war on Nature and the environment.

ALL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES ARE BEING CUT IN TERMS OF BUDGET, EXCEPT FOR THE MILITARY, WHICH KEEPS ON INCREASING

US wildfire costs exceed $2 billion, a record amid a year of extremes
Big fires that have hit Montana, Oregon and California especially hard have thrust as many as 27,000 people to the fire lines, pushing the cost of fire suppression for the U.S. Forest Service to a milestone $2 billion this year, the agency reported.

The expense tops the agency’s previous record of $1.7 billion in 2015, with two weeks still remaining in the budget year, which runs Oct. 1 through Sept. 30. The cost does not include the smaller amounts spent by other federal and state firefighting agencies.

FIRE FIGHTING EXPENSES KEEP ON GROWING EXPONENTIALLY, AS THE WAR ON FORESTS CONTINUES AND THE WAR ON NATURE IS LOST, YEAR AFTER YEAR

Year                      Fire Fighting 'EXPENSES'

1985                  240 MILLION
1995                                    900 MILLION
2002                                                          1.5 BILLION
2016                                                                                                         2.5 BILLION

Care to guess where this chart is going from here?

Forest fires keep on increasing in frequency and size, and severity, as the union employee budgets in all Forest Service departments keep on decreasing everywhere. The only exception is the for profit outsourced fighting fire costs, which keep on increasing.

MORE AND MORE OF THE FOREST SERVICE BUDGET IS SPENT ON FIGHTING NATURE, INSTEAD OF ON PREVENTING FIRES, PLANTING FORESTS AND REFORESTATION

If there is a huge privatized 'profit' in destroying forests and in fighting forest fires, why would anyone limit fires, or prevent them?

If increasing forest fires also serves to destroy one of the only and largest government unions left in America, what motive is left to save any forest at all, in the minds of the Libertarians and corporate funded politicians?

AMOUNT OF FOREST BEING LOST EACH YEAR IS ALMOST UNIMAGINABLE, BUT IT IS INVISIBLE

Forest Being Lost In Hectares

Click on live link above to see live information on amount of forest being lost NOW, globally.

1.6 million hectares per year of forests are lost each year = 3.95 million acres/year of forests are lost globally. This tipping point also accelerates the increase in CO2, and accelerates the reduction in oxygen levels, plus it accelerates the rate of loss of species per day, since forests are the richest source of life on the planet. Loss of forests also accelerates land loss and soil erosion.

One hectare (2.47 acres) of rainforest may contain over 750 types of trees and 1500 species of higher plants. (Is it really worth this price, to chop down the rainforest and then replace it with grazing land for McDonalds, so people can eat more hamburgers, or to create more palm oil plantations?

As fascism rises globally, the loss of forests to huge global predatory capitalists also rises at the same time.

Forests help moderate local climate and reduce both severity of storms, droughts and weather events, due to numerous positive feedback loops such as absorbing rainfall, deepening of topsoil, absorption of heat, release of negative ions, absorption of positive ions, increase of carbon absorption, and many more..

MORE THAN 50 PERCENT OF WORLD'S RAIN FORESTS HAVE BEEN LOST FOREVER

According to National Geographic; "More than half of Earth’s rain forests have already been lost forever to the insatiable human demand for wood and arable land. Rain forests that once grew over 14 percent of the land on Earth now cover only about 6 percent. And if current deforestation rates continue, these critical habitats could disappear from the planet completely within the next hundred years."

EU Commission: No palm oil in our tanks. Stop subsidising palm oil biodiesel!
Palm oil deforestation is getting worse, ravaging some of the planet’s remaining rainforests and our most precious wildlife.

But most people don’t know that 51% of all the palm oil imported into Europe goes into our cars. The EU subsidises it as a “green biodiesel”. Even though it’s actually three times worse for the climate than regular diesel because of the deforestation it causes.

On 1st February 2019 the European Commission can stop this madness. The EU Parliament had voted to stop promoting palm oil in biodiesel as a ‘green fuel’, but now it’s up to the European Commission to make it happen.

Tell the European Commission: No palm oil in my tank!

Species loss is accelerating - and now stands at 137 species PER DAY being lost permanently, forever.

Experts estimates that we are losing 137 plant, animal and insect species every single day due to rainforest deforestation. That equates to 50,000 species a year.

DEFORESTATION INCREASES CO2, DUST, GLOBAL WARMING GASES AND RESULTS IN LESS RAIN, LESS MODERATION OF CLIMATE EXTREMES AND MORE PLUS LONGER DROUGHTS GLOBALLY

Deforestation increases the amount of CO2, dust, and other trace global warming gases in the atmosphere. When a forest is cut and replaced by cropland and pastures, the carbon that was stored in the tree trunks (wood is about 50% carbon) joins with oxygen and is released into the atmosphere as CO2. Climate is affected in a negative manner when forests are clearcut, because forests moderate both temperature and humidity swings.

WHAT IS ONE MAJOR FACTOR THAT IS DRIVING DEFORESTATION? GOT BEEF?

It is not just the demand for tropical hardwood that is destroying the forests. The demand for beef, soybeans, palm oil and more are all part of what is leading to wholesale destruction of the lungs of the Earth.

NUCLEAR PLANTS ARE INCREASING SPEED OF GLOBAL WARMING AND ARE KILLING TREES AS WELL

More Nuclear Energy Is Not The Solution To Our Climate Crisis | Cognoscenti
We need to cut carbon emissions drastically if we are to have any hope of avoiding the very worst of climate change. Were there no better low-carbon electricity choices, groups like UCS might be on the right track in calling for a bailout of financially strapped nuclear plants. But we do have safer, more economically viable options.

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory projects that renewable energy, combined with a more flexible electric system, would be “more than adequate to supply 80 percent of total U.S. electricity generation in 2050, while meeting demand on an hourly basis in every region of the country.” Keeping our least- profitable nuclear plants online is a distraction from meeting — or exceeding — this goal.

Remember, anything that is not sustainable is TERMINAL.

CO2 AMOUNTS INCREASING EACH YEAR TO TOXIC LEVELS, DUE TO HUMAN USE OF CARBON FUELS, AT RATE OF 122 BILLION TONS RELEASED INTO ATMOSPHERE EACH YEAR

The loss of forests has a great effect on the global carbon cycle. From 1850 to 1990, deforestation worldwide (including that in the United States) released 122 billion metric tons of carbon into the atmosphere, with the current rate being between 1.6 billion metric tons per year (Skole et al. 1998). In comparison, all of the fossil fuels (coal, oil, and gas) burned during a year release about 6 billion tons per year.

CO2 Added By Humanity Is More Than 200 Times All Volcanoes Combined, As Oxygen Levels, Human Intelligence, Reaction Times, Health And Environment Deteriorates

Releasing CO2 into the atmosphere increases the greenhouse effect, and may raise global temperatures (see Climate Change fact sheet). The role of fossil fuel burned by cars and by industry is well known, but tropical deforestation releases about 25% of the amount released by fossil fuel burning. Tropical deforestation, therefore, contributes a significant part of the increasing CO2 in the atmosphere.

DEFORESTATION IMPACT IS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY GREEN STANDARDS OR CERTIFICATION

The HUGE but invisible problem compounding the loss of forests is that none of the green standards including LEED, ISO 14000, Environmental Management Certification, Industry Certifications, EPA Certification,  or Agriculture Certifications consider the loss of forests or plants when building a building, road, dam, etc. These green certifications only focus on such things as indoor air quality, building water use and energy use. They do not include loss of forest or plants. Losing hectares of forest and plants is not even considered in green standards or certifications. While green standards and certifications are useful, they need to include a look at the loss of forest and plants involved, and consider that impact as well.

If the whole world is full of energy efficient buildings, but there is no forest left, has humanity really gained anything? Due to lack of asking the question; what works without causing harm for 7 future generations, humanity has triggered many negative tipping points. Isn't it time to start asking and answering this question?

List of 45+ Negative Global Tipping Points Explored and Explained

TREES ARE THE LUNGS OF THE EARTH, BUT HUMANS ARE CUTTING THEM OUT IN A GLOBAL, SUICIDAL GREED AND SELF DESTRUCTION MOTIVATED ORGY OF DEATH, RAPE AND PILLAGE

Instead of chopping out the lungs of the planet, humans could be growing the lungs of the planet by reforesting areas lost to deforestation or desertification.

Instead of chopping out the lungs of the planet, humans could be planting and harvesting fast growing plants like hemp, which can be made into building panels, paper and even lumber.

Hemp, Cannabis Has 50,000 Industrial Uses; Where Is It Grown Globally? Why Is It Illegal In US, But Legal In France, China, Chile, Ukraine, Hungary, Russia, Romania, Turkey, Spain, Serbia? Make America Great, Legalize Hemp Growing!

Hemp Is A Renewable, Carbon Absorbing, Climate Change Reversing Product With A Trillion Dollar Potential, Replaces Monopolies Like Toxic Fossil Fuels, Plastic, Chemicals, Tree Clearcutting, Steel, Meat
