Trump told border official he’d pardon him if he went to jail over immigration moves: CNN | TheHill
President Trump reportedly told the head of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that he would pardon him if he were sent to jail for violating immigration law.

CNN, citing two unnamed officials briefed on the exchange, reported that Trump told McAleenan he ”would pardon him if he ever went to jail for denying U.S. entry to migrants.”

It was reported earlier this week that during the visit to the border, Trump told CBP agents to block migrants from entering the U.S., a violation of federal laws and court orders.

There is an avalanche of people that will be coming north and that avalanche will be getting MUCH LARGER in the very near future. These climate change refugees are desperate. Nothing will stop the flood of climate change immigrants that will be forced north in the very near future. Tear gas, walls and even bullets will not stop what is coming soon. Trump has seen nothing yet.

The President of the United States repeatedly insisted that civil rights should be ignored and rescinded. Regardless out immigration or citizenship status, every person in the U.S. has constitutional rights that cannot be summarily dismissed.
“What we have to do is Congress has to meet quickly, and make a deal,” Trump said to reporters. “I could do it in 45 minutes,” he claimed, which is false, given his track record.

“We need to get rid of chain migration, we need to get rid of catch and release, and visa lottery, and we have to do something with asylum, and to be honest with you – have to get rid of judges,” Trump said casually, not realizing – or not caring – that he is literally talking about taking away civil rights, the civil rights of people who are fleeing violence, gangs, drugs, and oppression.

“Every time you catch somebody that’s come illegally into your country, and they bring them to a court,” Trump railed, again attacking civil rights.

Many on social media expressed concern.

Marcus Aurelio December 25, 2018 The group Border Angels estimates that since 1994, about 10,000 people have died in their attempt to cross the increasingly militarized border. According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, 7,216 people have died crossing the U.S–Mexico border between 1998 and 2017.

The deaths of two minors in US government custody recently are just a blip, compared to the 10,000 that have died already, thanks to US government policy.

The numbers of refugees, immigrants and asylum seekers is increasing globally. There are now 65 million refugees globally. How many of these homeless people were made homeless by US foreign policy? 

Who benefits from this suffering?

This huge increase in refugees generates a huge backlash that benefits those who support or advocate racist/nationalistic, bigoted fear, anger and hatred. As one example of this, Trump has authorized deadly force against unarmed immigrants fleeing violence, poverty and joblessness in their countries of origin, which is largely caused by US foreign interventions in those countries.

This article describes and goes into a few of the root causes that directly create millions of refugees, immigrants and asylum seekers globally. Some of these unfortunate and desperate people are trying to seek asylum in the US.

During WWII, the US turned away the German ocean liner St. Louis, which carried close to 1,000 passengers. TRUMP COMMITTED A WAR CRIME WHEN HE USED TEAR GAS ON UNARMED CIVILIANS AT BORDER

The United States Committed a War Crime When Using Tear Gas on Migrants at Border
“Anybody throwing stones, rocks, like they did to the Mexican military where they badly hurt police and soldiers of Mexico, we will consider that a firearm,” Trump said. “Because there is not much difference when you get hit in the face with a rock, which as you know, it was very violent a few days ago. Very, very violent. It was a break in of a country. They broke into Mexico.”

There is little room to doubt that this creates warfare and certainly satisfies the definition of an act of war under American law, which means that the rules of war also apply. Speaking in terms of international law, you can use some chemical weapons like tear gas on your own people, but you cannot do so in warfare.

By so expressly and explicitly framing the conflict on the border as a military action, President Trump has made it easy to argue that the Chemical Weapons Convention was violated when authorizing the use of chemical weapons on migrants.

To whatever extent President Trump views the border as a warzone, he must be in turn viewed as a war criminal.

After all, this isn’t even close to the first crime against humanity that the Trump administration has dabbled with when it comes to Central American immigrants. The policy of family separation may have amounted to torture, according to the United Nations. And a former prosecutor at the Nuremberg trials called Trump’s act of separating immigrant children from their families a crime against humanity.

The international legal position on this matter is clear. The US must permit entry and afford refuge to anyone it has recognised as a refugee or to whom it has granted asylum. Moreover, it cannot return any person to a country where she or he may suffer torture or other persecution. No ifs, no buts, no qualifications on national security.

Merkel will have reminded Trump that the United States is a party to the 1967 Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees. This prescribed the continuing application of the 1951 Convention relating to the status of refugees which was adopted to address the aftermath of World War II. That original convention was agreed in Geneva so it is sometimes referred to as the Geneva Convention.

As the US voluntarily accepted the 1967 protocol to the refugee convention, it is legally obliged to implement it. Despite Trump’s personal complaints about these “rules”, all other states party to the protocol and convention can legitimately expect the US to comply – hence the expressions of dismay from other heads of state as Trump announced his executive order.

‘These children are barefoot. In diapers. Choking on tear gas.’
A little girl from Honduras stares into the camera, her young features contorted in anguish. She’s barefoot, dusty, and clad only in a diaper and T-shirt. And she’s just had to run from clouds of choking tear gas fired across the border by U.S. agents.

A second photograph, which also circulated widely and rapidly on social media, shows an equally anguished woman frantically trying to drag the same child and a second toddler away from the gas as it spreads.

The three were part of a much larger group, perhaps 70 or 80 men, women and children, pictured in a wider-angle photo fleeing the tear gas. Reuters photographer Kim Kyung-Hoon shot the images, which provoked outrage and seemed at odds with President Trump’s portrayal of the caravan migrants as “criminals” and “gang members.”

Detained migrant kids continue to ‘struggle’ in ‘overtaxed’ facilities, AP investigation finds
Mentioned numerous times in the report is Southwest Key, which has a nearly $460 million dollar contract with the Trump administration to detain migrant kids. Yet, with all those hundreds of millions, the so-called “non-profit” saw two of its Arizona facilities recently shut down for failing to provide fingerprint records for some employees. “One former employee was convicted this year of sexually abusing multiple boys,” the AP continued. “Meanwhile, in Texas, Southwest Key is pushing to expand. It has sued Houston after local officials tried to stop the opening of a facility.”

“Jeff Eller, a spokesman for Southwest Key, acknowledged that staff morale has suffered this year due to the unprecedented demand,” but the administration is intentionally keeping these facilities packed and staff overburdened by intentionally roadblocking the release of kids to sponsors, leading to a record number of migrant children—approximately 14,000—in U.S. custody. Children belong with their families, period.

Republicans have historically spread conspiracy theories about a tyrannical despotic leader building fenced off camps and forcibly separating children from adults and then detaining them for no reason. Now their very own political party and President is doing just that, only much worse; keeping kids in cages, forcibly separated from their parents and keeping them in cages/camps. 

Remember the other time this was done in history? 


DENIAL: CLOSING DOWN THE BORDER, LOCKING PEOPLE OUT AND BUILDING WALLS IS NOT THE ANSWER, NOR DOES IT SOLVE THE PROBLEMS THAT GLOBAL WARMING PLUS MISGUIDED US FOREIGN POLICY CAUSES 

Denial is not a river in Egypt and ignorance is a choice being made.

On this holiday Sunday, United States officials have temporarily closed the U.S.-Mexico border in San Ysidro, California, after roughly 500 Central American asylum-seekers marched to the border to protest their conditions and slow U.S. processing. Mexican police set up barricades, turning back cars and foot traffic into the United States.

After some migrants instead walked across the Tijuana River (a mostly dry concrete flood channel) and attempted to enter the United States through a fence, U.S. authorities fired tear gas at the group to disperse them.

There is a deepening flood of suffering happening globally, all thanks to the 1 percent, and people who support the 1 percent, like Trump. But these people are in denial of the problems that they cause, and they refuse to talk about or address the root causes of these problems, by staying in delusional denial and ignorance. The corporate owned mass media largely ignores the root causes of huge issues as well. 


There are now millions of war and climate change refugees being forced out of their homes, both in the US and globally. Why is Trump refusing to talk about this? Trump refuses to 'believe' the scientific evidence of both global warming and the evidence of suffering caused by the climate changes such as larger disasters, bigger floods, longer droughts, and larger financial losses year after year.

Got terminal delusion and denial? The economic and food based price of global warming will continue to hit populations and countries harder and more frequently, making it much harder to stay in denial. More suffering is being caused by delusion, denial and conspiracy theories promoted by people like Trump and the 1 percent.

One of the largely overlooked aspects of the North American Free Trade Agreement is the fact that the failed trade pact has been the catalyst for the massive increase in illegal immigration over the past two decades or so. An influx of highly subsidized corn flooding the Mexican market has displaced millions of rural farmers, according to McClatchy Newspapers. Prior to the implementation of NAFTA, Mexican officials claimed that factory jobs would fill the void left by disappearing work on family farms.

Since NAFTA was signed into law, illegal immigrants in the U.S. has increased to 12 million today from 3.9 million in 1993, accounting for an overall increase of over 300 percent. According to the Pew Hispanic Center, 57 percent of those entering the country illegally are from Mexico. “The numbers of people displaced from family farming were much, much higher than the number of new wage jobs,” Jonathan Fox, an expert on rural Mexico at the University of California at Santa Cruz, told McClatchy Newspapers

Yemen: up to 85,000 young children dead from starvation | World news | The Guardian
An estimated 85,000 children under the age of five have starved to death over the last three years as a result of Yemen’s civil war, a report from Save the Children has found, as the charity urged an immediate ceasefire to prevent more loss of life.

The figure is a conservative estimate based on UN data on severe acute malnutrition, which the international body says has afflicted more than 1.3 million children since the conflict between Houthi rebels and the Saudi-led coalition that seeks to restore Yemen’s exiled government began in 2015.

About 14 million people – half of Yemen’s population – are currently at risk of famine, largely because of Saudi border blockades designed to weaken the Houthis, which have also strangled civilian access to food, fuel, aid and commercial goods.

When small farmers and small businesses such as cooperatives also become the 'enemy', what happens next? When unions are all 'evil' or 'commies', what happens next? 

Huge taxpayer money subsidized corporate welfare factory farms are displacing small organic farmers and cooperatives both in the US and in many foreign countries. 

Cooperatives are much like unions; they compete with huge corporations that want to squash them and unions. The huge corporations along with ALEC strategy is to kill all family and organic farms plus their associated cooperative business structures where employees own the company, or farms. They do this by passing more free trade agreements, such as NAFTA or TPP, and similar versions of the same thing.

So corn tariffs, which the Mexican government had used fairly consistently to protect their corn farmers from cheaper corn coming from the US, were eliminated very quickly after NAFTA, within two years of NAFTA, US corn flooded in. Corn imports increased over 400 percent in Mexico of US corn, prices went down 66 percent in the 16 years of NAFTA.

DEVASTATED FARMERS AND UNDOCUMENTED MIGRANTS

And, of course, the farmers who eat what they grow in addition to selling what they grow were devastated. The evidence is that 2.3 million people left agriculture in Mexico in the time since NAFTA. And that actually hides an even worse story. Some 5 million so-called unpaid family farm members left the farm. They didn't give up their farms, 'cause their farms are a really valuable asset, often the only asset they have. But that's the flow that got pushed into the undocumented migrant stream, those 5 million people who couldn't make a living off their family farms anymore.

DEATH, SEPARATION OF MIGRANT FAMILY WORKERS

We criminalized it and began to make that a much more--take a much more punitive look at that approach to that on the part of the US government, with huge cost to human life, just the deaths on the border, to breaking up families. It used to be that with a seasonal flow of migrants, family members would come work the fields in California or wherever and go back home. Now families are permanently broken up because it's too risky to go back and forth and back and forth. They come and they stay. It's too risky to bring their family members. So it's devastating to families as well.

SMITHFIELD GAINS AND SWINE FLU INCREASES AS SMALL PORK PRODUCERS IN MEXICO ARE FORCED OUT OF BUSINESS BY HUGE GLOBALIST PORK PRODUCTION FACTORY FARMS

Take Smithfield; because they benefit not only from US agricultural policies but from labor policies, environment policies, immigration policies, and trade policies...Pork exports increased 700 percent from the United States to Mexico [sic]. But they were getting all their feed grains cheap at a discount rate because of US agricultural policies which created overproduction and forced down corn and soy costs...They--NAFTA liberalizes investment, so they can invest their own capital to expand their operations in Mexico, and they become what is now the biggest pork producer in Mexico, on plants like that one in Veracruz that is suspected of having some relationship to the swine flu epidemic... 

 No environmental regulations are enforced either in the United States or in Mexico for these very polluting industrial huge corporation factory farm hog operations. And then, as if that's not enough, all the people pushed out of jobs in Mexico in corn, in soy, in pork, all those small-scale producers who can't compete with the imports, or with Smithfield directly, need to look for work. And where do they find work? Well, some of them find them at the Veracruz facility in Mexico of Smithfield, and some of them come across the border and work at the Tar Heel plant in North Carolina.

Amazingly, it is cheaper to grow corporate welfare grown GMO corn in the US, export it to a foreign country like Mexico and then sell it there for cheaper than what a small Mexican family farmer can raise it for at his/her cost. In other words, it is cheaper to buy GMO corn in the store in foreign countries than it is to plant it and raise it from last year's seed. Farmers cannot make money at farming anymore.

Millions of farmers in foreign countries are being forced out of business and are starving, because they cannot make any money selling what they raise locally, as they have been doing since time began. As these farming families starve and lose their lands/homes and way of life, they get desperate and move, illegally, to places where they might be able to eke out a living, like the US. 

The mass media can then focus on the 'illegals' problem, which divides and conquers the people who vote, and get them fighting with each other. The mass media almost never points at the true root cause of the problem, nor at the solution. 

Subsidies for farmers were originally meant for small farmers, to keep them on the farm and not allow small organic farms to go out of business. But now those 'small farmer' subsidies all go to huge agribusiness farms and the richest 1%. Those small farmers don't see any of that money anymore, and that is a huge problem, as small farmers in the US are being forced out of business by huge agri business corporations squeezing out the competition both at home and in foreign countries, with the help of the US taxpayer.

The newest and supposedly best free trade agreement just changes names, depending on the latest greatest President, who champions a newer better version. But the latest trade agreement is going to surpass all of the others in the sheer scope and scale of corporate takeover of whole nations. Corporations now have the right to sue countries for 'lost profits'. 

No country can block harmful chemicals, pollutants, GMO's, or radioactive products. If they try to block things that are not wanted by the citizens of that country due to being harmful, the corporation can now sue that country for 'lost profits' due to that blockage. The lawsuits have already started, but they will get much worse.

Bottom line, the average US citizen will be exposed to more and more harmful emissions, products and services as a result of free trade agreements that only huge corporations are part of passing into law, while losing more social benefits, rights, freedoms and jobs.
