MD CALLS FOR END TO INCINERATION OF NUCLEAR GARBAGE AND WASTE MATERIALS


"Dr Ken Nakayama MD, Orthopedic Surgeon, Press Conference May 4th 2012, by Cinema Forum Fukushima. Japanese Nuclear Scientist and Japanese and US medical doctors met to discuss current radiological health conditions and concerns in Japan after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear reactor catastrophe.

In the video, Dr Nakayama discusses the immediate needs to protect Japanese citizens now living in contaminated areas. He requests better monitoring of radioactive content of food, and calls for the end of incineration. He opposes the burying of radioactive tsunami rubble throughout Japan.

Following the 3/11 earthquake, he entered the exclusion zone in Fukushima for three days as a member of the government's Disaster Medical Assistance Team to rescue patients abandoned at a hospital. In December 2011, he spoke in a press conference in Osaka along with Dr. Fuse in opposition to the government policy for incinerating tsunami rubble across the country.

They discuss the under-reported health consequences after the nuclear disaster, health risks resulting from inadequate food safety standards, and the environmental dispersion of radioactive materials by government burning of radioactive disaster debris. Voices for Lively Spring, a Japanese citizens' group, Physicians for Social Responsibility, a US and international medical NGO, and Human Rights Now, a Japanese international human rights NGO, feel that the international community is not adequately informed about the evolving "current status" and the remaining serious problems in Japan after the nuclear disaster. The nuclear scientist and medical doctors from Japan and US will be available for media interviews.

...There has NOT been a significant improvement in protecting the local communities in Japan from exposure to radioactivity. Radioactive materials are still being released into the environment -- air, soil and ocean -- from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Many citizens still live in areas where the radiation level is dangerously high. (due to 3 'lost' coriums and emissions from those, into ground, ocean and air.)

On 3/11, Japan experienced a huge 9.0 earthquake. Then three more mega disasters followed that. Japan is still in the middle of the last two mega disasters and they have not ended, despite authorities trying to portray everything as being normal and safe.

JAPANESE GOVERNMENT MOVING PEOPLE BACK INTO HIGHLY RADIATION CONTAMINATED AREAS


The Japanese government continues to keep its citizens in harms' way by applying a 20mSv per year standard to establish evacuation zones. (normal is 1 mSv/yr) Citizens in the rest of Japan also remain in danger of being exposed to unsafe levels of radiation due to widespread radiological contamination from the accident.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED AT FUKUSHIMA?


The reason the title contains the words 'high level' is because low level radiation is something contained in foods, and has legal maximums allowed. The 100,000 Bq/kg beyond and way above this 'low level' radiation levels found in foods. The extremely high level nuclear waste found in spent fuel pools and nuclear waste at Hanford is orders of magnitude worse than what is being burned and cannot be burned on purpose due to the massive numbers of deaths that would cause. However, at Fukushima Daichi, spent fuel pools DID burn, multiple times, releasing massive amounts of radiation into the air.

GOVERNMENT AND NUCLEAR INDUSTRY IS MAKING THE RADIATION CONTAMINATION PROBLEM MUCH WORSE


Instead of solving problems, the Japanese nuclear industry and government is making the problem much worse, by creating 100 to 1,000 times MORE radioactive material, through the process of burning debris, according to Arnie Gunderson, a nuclear expert. 

A temporary incinerator was set up inside the Fukushima Daichi nuclear power plant, and radioactive debris was burned there from 2011 to 2012, maybe even beyond that. It is possible that they are still incinerating waste there.

CONSEQUENCES OF BURNING NUCLEAR WASTE MATERIALS


Dr. Chris Busby is another expert who also has given talks about burning radioactive waste in Japan, and he is also opposed to it for the same reasons that the above experts are. Dr. Busby has won court cases against the nuclear industry, so he is also an expert on the subject.

As Dr. Busby says, if radiation is spread all over Japan, and everyone is dying from it equally, all over, it is hard to sue for damages, because that establishes a new 'baseline'. No one can prove that Fukushima caused their cancer, so no one can win a lawsuit. Is this a solution that the nuclear industry has come up with, or was this the government acting all on it's own? 

Burning radioactive debris with 100,000 Bq/kg, will contaminate all of JAPAN, and contaminate everyone with radiation. EVERYONE! What is worse, is that the medical doctors then refuse to do internal radiation tests at hospitals, clinics, especially around the Fukushima area, because Dr. Nakayama is more of an exception, not the rule. More medical doctor are telling patients that it is just stress, not radiation that is causing health problems, and that it is all their fault, and it cannot be radiation at all.

What actually should have happened is that Japan should have been evacuated. But the consequences of that are so horrible to contemplate that Japan made the decision to not evacuate anyone except a small number right around the immediate area of Fukushima Daichi, even though everyone all the way down to Tokyo and beyond should have been evacuated.

Instead of trying to help residents escape the worst fallout, the authorities decided to cover up the severity and magnitude of the disaster, and refused to even hand out KI iodine tablets, which are helpful in preventing thyroid cancer. This happened in the US as well, as the Fukushima fallout plume went over the entire US.

22 million cu. meters! Do you know the volume of the great Pyramid at Giza, Egypt is? " Only" 2,586,810 cubic meters.

SUMMARY


What is the take away? The mega nuclear disaster at Fukushima is just starting. The burning of radioactive debris is making things much, much worse in Japan and it will further endangers Olympic athletes and anyone else who travels and/or lives in Japan for even a brief period. Long term, the prospects for Japanese residents is poor and getting worse, the longer the authorities refuse to protect citizens and keep spreading radiation all over the country.

In addition, there are at least three active and out of control lava corium 100 ton blobs of death burning inside or down in the ground underneath Fukushima Daichi. TEPCO has not bothered to find out where they are, four years after 3/11. Those radioactive blobs are fissioning away, without end.

How does a family deal with this issue, if they live within 200 miles of one of these incinerators or active coriu that are all throwing radiation into the air without any end? These incinerators are burning 100,000 bq/kg waste all over Japan and those corium lava blobs are also emitting constant radioactive poisons into the water and air. 

First, keep children indoors as much as possible. Run HEPA air filters with a negative ion generator 24/7. But a radiation meter and test your filters. Change them more frequently if you detect high radiation levels on them, up to twice a month. Buy imported food. Either run water through a special three stage filter designed for radiation, or buy imported water to drink. Don't exercise outdoors, especially walking, running, biking. Buy a car with an air filter for cabin air built into and run a negative ion generator inside the car. Test and change the filter as needed.

These are basic radiation fallout safety guidelines, but there are more things you can do, such as not bringing shoes or jackets indoors. Test your clothing and items brought in from outdoors. Don't keep a pet, as they are radiation fur magnets. Good luck to you and your loved ones, because long term we will all need it, due to where the nuclear industry is taking us all.
