The real goal of Trump’s US government shutdown appears to be to get unpaid workers to leave their jobs, and allow him to quickly privatize more government functions, to the benefit of both his foreign and domestic corporate buddies. Additionally, when US government workers get their homes foreclosed upon, his corporate buddies can buy them for cheap, and then rent them for high amounts.
Reagan fired 11,345 air traffic controllers shortly after they went on strike in 1981. Air traffic wasn’t as important then, but it still caused problems for months, afterwards. It also led to the hiring of thousands new, young, air traffic controllers who have reached or passed the retirement age of 56. Shutting down the government is the equivalent of your doctor or mechanic diagnosing a problem with your health or your car, making it unusable. But instead of doing their job (as a politician), they tell you to pay them and that they will be back in a couple weeks, maybe longer, to work on it.

There is a problem with the far right Cato Institute claiming that there is something in the Constitution about 'limited government'. The fact is, there is nothing in the Constitution about that, nor is there anything in the Constitution about states having the supposed 'right' to recall anything or change their minds about anything that they previously agreed to hand over to the federal government. Look at how hard it is for states to legalize marijuana after it was declared illegal by the federal government.. People are still being thrown into prisons with very long sentences for opening marijuana dispensaries despite multiple states declaring medicinal marijuana 'legal'.

All this was considered constitutional by the Founders. None of these outrages, please note, was the result of “progressivism,” which had yet to be articulated, and all were common prior to the New Deal and the advent of so-called Big Government. Was this the face of “limited government?”
No, it was not. The concept of a democratically “limited government” was not for a moment entertained by our Founders, nor is it by those who idolize them today. With few exceptions, the Founders were Eighteenth Century patricians who took a revolutionary gamble meant chiefly to perpetuate their privileges, free from English colonial overlord-ship. It should come as no surprise these elitists drafted a Constitution that posed no threat to aristocracy.

10/2/2013 - Jon Stewart apologized Wednesday night for calling Republicans "idiots" and "dunderheads" and "morons" for the current government shutdown fiasco... because "I may have been way too easy on them." Stewart couldn't believe how the GOP "had the balls" to create this shutdown and then complain about its effects.
He found it somewhat "galling" that "the party that has run on the last 40 years on so on the idea that government is the enemy is saddened to see it crippled like this." He called "bullshit!" on their claims the Democrats are to blame, as well as labeling them "self-righetous Orwellian zebra queefs."
John Oliver then joined Stewart to explain why no one's ever going to get in trouble for this: Congress is wildly unpopular, but the incumbency rate is super-high, and they're in safe districts so they can even "poison a basket of kittens," and as long as Obama didn't tell him to do it, they'd be fine.
HOW DOES CONGRESS NOT REPRESENT THE 99 PERCENT, AND HAVE A LOW APPROVAL RATING OF ONLY 10 PERCENT, AND YET KEEP ON GETTING ELECTED OVER AND OVER AGAIN? GOT RIGGING AND CHEATING TO WIN?
Congress has an approval rating of 10% currently, according to polls. But the dozen or two dozen Tea Party (renamed Freedom Caucus) reps there are immune to voters being pissed at them and throwing them under the bus. They cannot be tossed out of office, no matter what. They have rigged and engineered the system so much that not only can't a Third Party like the Greens EVER get elected, no one from the Democratic Party can get elected either.
Besides changing the voting boundaries so no one else stands a chance against them, they also rig the game through unlimited corporate funding, which no union, grass roots community donations, or non profits can match. Generally, corporations outspend unions and other special interests on a 10 to 1 basis. Now we all know that he who spends the most on an election generally gets elected, so corporations have now rigged the game so much in their favor through money and gerrymandering and restrictive voting laws, that they theoretically can NEVER lose.
Now add the armies of lobbyists and the ALEC organization that writes laws favorable to corporations, plus the mass media owned by corporations, showing only corporate friendly 'programming' and you end up with..... drumm roollllll, a corporate controlled fascist government, with corporate owned, corporate elected, fascist representatives who hate government and all it stands for, which is the people's will.
10/3/2013 - Jon Stewart Government Shutdown - For the third night in a row, Jon Stewart opened The Daily Show with coverage of "Shutstorm 2013″ and this time his rage was aimed squarely at "Bullshit Mountain," AKA Fox News. He noticed that the hosts over at Fox seem to have realized that "this shutdown ain't looking so hot for one particular political party."
Stewart went straight to the "Bullshit-anator" himself, Sean Hannity, who has been referring to the whole thing as a "liberal shutdown." But it was Fox's coverage of the shuttered World War II memorial that really got him going. "Could there be a higher octane fuel for Fox News' false outrage exploitation engine than wheelchair-bound World War II veterans?" he asked. "Maybe a fetus that owns a small business and that small business makes 'Merry Christmas' muzzle cozies."
The host blasted Fox for standing up against the memorial closure while forgetting that "it's their allies' assassin budget shenanigans that not only shut it in the first place, but also put Meals on Wheels at risk, a program that serves meals to over 500,000 veterans a year."
After playing a montage of Republicans describing their love for "small government," Stewart came to a realization. "You hate the government," he said. "Yet you rail like banshees if any of the services and benefits you like are taken away." Echoing an infamous scene from Steve Martin's The Jerk, he said, "I don't need any government, except these memorials, and Social Security, and the paddle game."
Turning back to Fox, Stewart played a clip of Fox and Friends' Steve Doocey remarking that the Obama administration sent more security to the World War II memorial than he did to Benghazi. "I'm pretty sure the news face you want to use to convey outrage and concern isn't shit-eating grin," he said. "The gratuitous and cavalier nature of that comparison truly shows how little they actually care about Benghazi, except as a 'Ben-gotcha.'"
For more, Stewart went "live via satellite" to a "longtime federal employee who has seen the effects of this shutdown firsthand": Smokey the Bear. Is this a way to run the government that is supposed to be ruled by and for the people?
The situation is like a woman who stays with a man that continues to abuse and beat her, but there is an open door nearby and legal help available if she asks for it. In this dysfunctional and unhealthy relationship, the woman is 'voting' for her abuser, just like voters are asking to be abused, raped and have everything they value stolen from them, via their vote for these corporate souled out politicians inside the DUALOPOLY.
Every American has a front row seat to the clown show that pretends to be about freedom and democracy, when it is anything but that.

Bottom line, maybe it is time to quit tinkering with the voting issues and do some root cause problem solving, via a peaceful revolution.
It is time for a revolution via voting and consciousness raising. The average person believes that somehow continuing to vote for evil or more evil with fear as a motive will fix the system, when all that does is to make it much worse.
Participating, organizing and taking action is the key.. Voting is just the last step in the process.

We no longer live in a functioning democracy, but a system the political philosopher Sheldon Wolin calls “inverted totalitarianism.”
We will step outside this system and build alternative movements, including alternative political parties, or see the rise of a Christianized fascism, of which the Trump campaign is the dress rehearsal.
It is imperative that you join me in contributing to the Stein/Baraka presidential campaign and vote for Jill and Ajamu in the upcoming election. There is no longer any genuine threat from Donald Trump that can be used as an excuse to vote for Hillary Clinton.
The current policies of austerity and endless war, of wholesale surveillance, of Wall Street fraud and abuse, along with a refusal to enact a massive green energy program to save our environment, will by 2020 ensure the rise of a far-right candidate endowed with a discipline and political skill that eludes Trump.
If Jill and the Green Party can get 5 percent of the vote we will have $10 million in federal funds in 2020 and broad, nationwide ballot access. This election is about building the momentum for this historical moment.
The time for resistance, genuine resistance, is now. We must step outside the political mainstream. We must, like Greece and Spain, invest in movements and parties to reverse our corporate coup.
We must dismantle the neoliberal policies and imperial adventurism that have laid waste to our civil liberties and are destroying the nation and the planet.
Don’t be ruled by fear this election. Be ruled by your conscience.

Threatening to shut down the US government and then doing it is the equivalent of a married couple having a minor domestic squabble, and one partner consistently threatening to divorce and leave, unless that person gets their way, no matter what? Is this tactic of escalating everything to a nuclear war going to result in a positive, thriving marriage, or a divorce?
MOST PEOPLE ARE OPPOSED TO WHAT THE CORPORATE CONTROLLED DUALOPOLY IS DOING, BUT THEY KEEP ON VOTING FOR IT; LIKE A FLY BUMPING INTO GLASS WINDOWS, TRYING TO GET OUT, WHEN THERE IS AN OPEN DOOR NEARBY
Why is it that most people continue to vote for the DUALOPOLY, when they know that those politicians are paid off and controlled by corporations, who will do the exact opposite of what they promise the public when they get into office?
The situation is like a woman who stays with a man that continues to abuse and beat her, but there is an open door nearby and legal help available if she asks for it. Meanwhile, the open door is there, but the people keep trying to 'get out' by flying into the same closed glass window, over and over again, until they die. Most people would rather die than change. Change is feared worse than death.
And so, people keep on voting out of fear, for evil or more evil inside of the Matrix controlled Dualopoly and for the benefit of the 1 percent, until they die.
America currently is like a crazy clown show, where both the clowns are dressed up and faking a bunch of stuff, while putting on a loony tunes show in order to give the appearance of something.
Both candidates are really something else underneath all of the lipstick, fakery and showmanship.
But like all huge egos, they have to keep up appearances, and they will do or say anything to get and keep power, and do what they want, no matter what the peoples will is.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and the 1 percent currently has absolute power over the American people via the Dualopoly.

WHAT IS THE NORMAL PROCESS OF CHANGE OR REVOLUTION, WITHOUT VIOLENCE?
In any other country besides the US, the normal process of change means that people vote for political parties other than the ones that have gotten too corrupt. In most other civilized countries, there are multiple political parties on the ballot, so it is easy to vote for less corrupt political parties, because they are always on the ballot. Any political party can also be established brand new, and as long as more than a couple of percent of the people vote for it, it will be on the ballot and a representative will be elected and represent those people in the halls of power.
The same thing used to be true in the US historically. The US at the beginning did not have any political parties. Later, when political parties started to become the 'norm', the parties were started, bloomed and then faded away, only to be replaced by other parties.

No votes are wasted and people vote for and get a representative.
It is only recently that the DUALOPOLY was established and a corrupted divide and conquer policy was put in place in the USA, in order to trap people and keep them voting inside of this rigged system that does not allow any other political parties to be shown in the mass media, to be included in the voting process and to keep their representatives from being included in the halls of power.
In other words, the whole system is rigged and fixed from beginning to end, and it is controlled via absolute power by the 1 percent who pull the strings behind the scenes, while enriching themselves at the expense of the 99 percent. This was true historically when the founders wrote the Constitution and it is still true today. Nothing has changed in that way.
Along the way, the 99 percent has demanded and received certain democratic rights, such as women getting the right to vote, which was not included in the Constitution by the way. Minorities got the right to be treated as equals, which was also not included in the Constitution. These hard fought and long and pro democracy struggles took many people's blood, sweat and tears to accomplish, and they were not handed over easily, willingly or freely.

But beyond these given facts, this article asks; how many reasons are there for NOT voting? Do these reasons have merit? Are there some solutions to problems or issues around voting and the ultra low 7% approval rating for Congress? Also, what are the consequences of not voting?
Bottom line, maybe it is time to quit tinkering with the voting issues and do some root cause problem solving, via a peaceful revolution.
SUMMARY
It is time for a revolution via voting and consciousness raising. The average person believes that somehow continuing to vote for evil or more evil with fear as a motive will fix the system, when all that does is to make it much worse.
Voting for the 'lesser evil' is still voting for evil. When someone takes an action out of fear, what happens is that fear GROWS. This is a spiritual law.
The 1 percent have rigged the system, and they control the DUALOPOLY, which is the Democrats and Republicans. The only way out of this mess is to vote outside of the Dualopoly.
The answer is to vote out of LOVE, for the greater good, which is always there. The revolution begins and ends with YOU. Your consciousness must be raised in order to vote for the candidate that represents your VALUES, such as not taking money from corrupt corporations. For example, the Green Party does not take any money from corporations and has a woman running for President. Dr. Jill Stein is also planning for a future that does not do harm to 7 future generations of children.
The answers are all there, but as MLK says, we have to be the change that we seek. Voting out of fear and for evil will only grow the fear and evil. Vote for the good, and out of love and with pure intention, higher consciousness.
Do the RIGHT thing. Follow the path less traveled, and build a green road for the future.
But one thing is for sure, is that your voice needs to be heard, and you need to vote in every election. Voting is where the REAL REVOLUTION happens, and it happens with your voice and your truth.
Remember to ask the question; what works for 7 future generations without causing harm to them or the present generation? before taking any action, or voting.

If we start from the KNOWING that we humans are all ONE FAMILY, with ONE FUTURE, and ONE PLANET, wouldn't that make it much easier to get to a solution that works for everyone, long term? Now if we added the requirement that we get to talk about what works for seven future generations without causing harm, wouldn't that serve to cross the great divide between the artificial political parties that are mostly sold out to the selfish, greedy 1 percent?

Currently, when Congress fails to meet a deadline to pass a government funding bill, the agencies which remain unfunded shut down. Often, Congress chooses to pass what’s called a continuing resolution (CR) to delay and extend the deadline to pass funding bills, which keeps funding operations at their current levels. The “End Government Shutdowns Act” would automatically create a continuing resolution for any appropriations bill not passed by Oct. 1, the deadline to pass a bill funding the government for the next fiscal year. In theory, this would allow members of Congress to continue to negotiate over appropriations while keeping the government open.
CR funding would be reduced by 1 percent after 120 days, and would be reduced by another 1 percent every 90 days “until Congress does its job and completes the annual appropriations process,” according to the release announcing the bill.
