The 'official' report above makes no mention of a garbage patch, nor does it find any radiation of any consequence, anywhere in the Pacific.
Another video reporter using various sources reports that the garbage patch that was the result of the huge mega disaster tsunami on 3/11 floated downwind of the radiation coming out of 3 Fukushima nuclear plants melting down and through. 95% of the WORST radiation went out over the ocean, settled on this garbage patch, and this radiation does not wash off.

Let us go on to the next step, and assume that what the sailors, the yacht owner plus the video reporter are telling the truth, just for debating purposes. We will all find out soon enough, as soon as the large majority of this trash pile hits the shores and someone runs over it with a pancake style radiation detector, or when a sailor goes out and measures the trash pile in the ocean.
What will be the consequences if someone picks up a radioactive item on a Washington, Oregon or California beach that came from Japan? Later on, they came into the doctor's office, displaying symptoms of radiation exposure?
What happens if a sailboat, fishing boat, or motor boat travels out into the Pacific and encounters the Japan 3/11 tsunami garbage patch? One story claims that this garbage patch coming from Japan towards California with the Pacific Ocean currents is a huge 3,000 mile long dead zone.
Now what if that boat gets radiation contaminated along with the crew and everyone who touches the boat after that? They go to the doctor with strange symptoms, but because no one is monitoring for radiation, they have contaminated not only the boat, the dock facilities, their vehicles, their home, their workplace, anywhere they went before they got sick, and now they are contaminating the doctor's office.
Consider the implications of this potential new radiation and/or chemical poisons risk that no one is watching for, measuring or warning anyone about... Medical doctors need to understand that not only would their health be compromised but also that of their staff and any patients in the waiting rooms, plus their families at home.
Their whole medical facility might have to be evacuated and closed down immediately, with everyone going through emergency decontamination procedures. Consider the potential panic this would cause, due to lack of preparation and warnings, assuming this is what is coming at the USA?

Japanese government misleading UN on impact of Fukushima fallout on children, decontamination workers – Greenpeace International
The report, “On the Frontline of the Fukushima Nuclear Accident: Workers and Children,” reveals high levels of radiation in both exclusion zones and open areas still exist even after huge decontamination efforts, and documents the extent of the government’s violation of international human rights conventions and guidelines, in particular those for workers and children.
“In areas where some of these decontamination workers are operating, the radiation levels would be considered an emergency if they were inside a nuclear facility,” said Shaun Burnie, Senior Nuclear Specialist of Greenpeace Germany. “These workers have received almost no training in radiation protection, are poorly paid, exposed to high radiation, and risk losing their jobs if they speak out. UN human rights Special Rapporteurs are absolutely right to warn the Japanese government over these risks and violations.”[2]
The main findings of the Greenpeace Japan investigation include:
Radiation levels in the exclusion zone and lifted evacuation areas of Namie and Iitate are a significant risk for the public including children. Levels range from five to over 100 times higher than the internationally recommended maximum and will remain so for many decades and into next century.[3]
In the exclusion zone in Obori in Namie, average radiation levels were 4.0 μSv per hour. These levels are so high that if a worker would operate there for eight hours per day during a full year, they could receive a dose equivalent to more than a hundred chest X-rays.
At a forest across the street from a kindergarten and school in Namie town where evacuation orders have been lifted, the average radiation level was 1.8 μSv per hour. All 1,584 points measured exceeded the Japanese government’s long-term decontamination target of 0.23 μSv per hour. In 28% of this area, the children’s annual dose could be 10-20 times higher than the internationally recommended maximum.
Worker exploitation is widespread, including recruitment from the disadvantaged and homeless, no effective training in radiation protection, falsification of identification and health certificates, and unreliable official records.
DOES YOUR CLINIC OR HOSPITAL HAVE A PLAN IF SOMEONE WALKS IN WHO IS RADIATION CONTAMINATED INTERNALLY?
Doctors need to prepare and implement a radiation measurement and decontamination emergency plan in order to prepare for such an event, even if they think it is unlikely.
A comprehensive radiation contamination education program for doctors SHOULD include measuring patients for both external and internal radiation contamination. The external radiation measurement and warning system should happen automatically, as soon as the patients come in the door, because unless this is done, nothing else will matter.
