When the US government has a 'legal' right to lie directly to the population, what trust can that population have in it's government? How can people know that the government is acting in the interests of the people, and not in favor of the 1 percent, and/or huge monopolistic corporations?

Republicans are now in charge, and they have not walked back this law, passed under Trump. So now that law is also their heritage, their record, and their shame.

Another way that America and other countries build walls is to divide their population, so that the 1 percent can stay in control. Propaganda is used to grow walls of fear and hatred against a chosen target, whether that is immigrants, the homeless, or people who are 'different' somehow. Once the division is made and the walls are built via lies spread on the mass media by political leaders and others, then that justifies the next step, which is a step into fascist punishments, such as separating families and jailing children behind actual physical walls and fenced in cages.

All of this makes us the immigrants feel like we're a second class citizens.

KGB Prisons, Putin, and Trump

I was just all alone in a secret KGB prison outside of Berlin with ghosts of people once held there. If someone is held in a KGB prison, it’s probably because they are a good person, not a bad person. Alone in that prison, I couldn’t help but think of two presidents, Putin and Trump, talking privately for two hours about their power and how to wield it.

In the 1980s, a young Vladimir Putin was a rising star in the KGB, working right there in Germany when this prison was full of unjustly incarcerated people. Now, he’s Mr. Make Russia Great Again. He’s leading his country — with a cunning ruthlessness that impresses both his people and our president — back to a position of global strength after its fall with the implosion of the USSR.

Pondering photos of people broken here, solitary confinement cells, and what it takes to rule a people who are not really free, I wondered what motivates our president to admire autocrats across the globe. Fighting for democracy and civil liberties is messy and frustrating I’m sure. Perhaps brutal measures by autocrats who have unbridled power are more rewarding. People don’t get in your way. You see results strong and fast.

Putin helped run and organize a system of prisons like this back then and he runs his country with a similar heartlessness today. The cost is real lives. Broken lives. This prison is silent today, but its ghosts spoke to me. Its inmates were silenced by isolation. They could do nothing.

But we are not isolated. We can make a difference. Silence on our part, as our president cozies up to autocracy, is a choice.

If ever you’re in Berlin, and you need a little such inspiration, here’s my entry for this sight from my Berlin guidebook:

—KGB Prison Memorial at Leistikowstrasse, Potsdam—
Standing in stark contrast to all of Potsdam’s pretty palaces and Hohenzollern bombast, this crumbling concrete prison has been turned into a memorial and documentation center to the Cold War victims of USSR “counterintelligence” (free, Tue-Sun 14:00-18:00, closed Mon).

On the nondescript Leistikowstrasse, a few steps from the lakeside park, the KGB established a base in August 1945 (mere days after the Potsdam Conference), which remained active until the fall of the USSR in 1991. The centerpiece of their “secret city” was this transit prison in which enemies of the Soviet regime were held and punished in horrible conditions before entering the USSR “justice” system — to be tried, executed, or shipped off to the notorious gulag labor camps. While most prisoners were Russian citizens, until 1955 the prison also held Germans who were essentially kidnapped by the USSR in retribution for their wartime activities.

From the blocky modern reception building, you’ll enter the complex. In the yard find the model illustrating how this was just the inner core of a walled secret city which until 1991 was technically Soviet territory and run by the KGB. Then head inside the prison, where the hallways and cells are an eerie world of peeling paint, faded linoleum, and rusted hinges. The two floors host a well-presented exhibit in English, explaining the history of the building and profiling many of the individuals who were held here." 

Today, Trump is profiling and making enemies of anyone who is not white. Either non whites are blocked completely from entering the US or they are put in prison as 'enemies'. From this place, it is very easy to implement the 'final solution', just as Hitler did in his rise to absolute power, all completely legally and according to 'law and order'.

PRISONS ARE BANNING BOOKS FOR POLITICAL PRISONERS, WHICH TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT WHY THEY ARE THERE

Most people in US prisons are there due to the unconstitutional, unethical, immoral anti drug laws. In effect, everyone in prison due to violating 'drug' laws is a political prisoner.

You know that departments of "corrections" have dropped all remaining pretense of correcting anything when they ban books.

The U.S. penal system is practically devoid of restitution, reparations, or rehabilitation. It has been so heavily promoted as a means of cruel vengeance, that the notion of prisoners having rights almost seems nonsensical.

Yet incarcerated people are people, and many of them will be freed some day. And the biggest book ban in the United States is not in schools or public libraries, but in prisons and jails.


Studies have documented that allowing people in prison access to outside information and ideas reduces recidivism.

In the past few years, various states and the federal prison system have attempted to dramatically restrict book deliveries to incarcerated people, or have shut down such deliveries entirely.

In Texas, the Department of Criminal Justice has banned over 10,000 books from prisons, including books by Alice Walker, John Grisham, Jenna Bush Hager, Henry Louis Gates Jr., and Bob Dole. While books from Adolf Hitler and David Duke have been allowed, books about civil rights and prison conditions are often blocked.

Prisons across the country have attempted to ban the book “The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness.” Public outcry has forced many prisons to reverse their decision, and yet, bans on books that discuss mass incarceration continue in prisons across the country."

Walls and ways of thinking such as a 'zero tolerance policy' that turns everyone who is LEGALLY seeking asylum into a criminal, are a symptom of a despotic system not working, in the same way that wars are a symptom of a government system not working. The wall is not the problem. The zero tolerance policy is not the problem, as these things symbolize and point to a lack of communication, a lack of a functioning democracy, a lack of solutions, a lack of freedom, a lack of focus on what really works. A wall is symbolic of fear and hatred, which divides and grows the darkness within the soul. 

A wall is symbolic of a suppression plus a denial of freedom, of human rights, of tolerance. A wall is also a symbol of not being in harmony with the environment, and Nature. A wall is symbolic of not talking about or discussing what works for 7 future generations, without causing harm.

The lesson of the fall of the Berlin Wall is very powerful. Remember that anything is possible. NEVER give up on a worthwhile goal. Keep working towards whatever it is that your intuition leads you towards. Imagine the goal already done and accomplished. Feel the success. Imagine living as if it were already done, and repeat this daily. Have faith. If done properly and often enough, any goal is possible. The only variable is WHEN the goal will be reached, not IF it will be reached.

Nelson Mandela had a dream. He was imprisoned for MANY years, but he never gave up. He focused on his dream daily. 

So if your goal is world peace, do not be discouraged or frustrated that the whole world seems to be following a self destructive path to war and violence. Keep focusing and feeling the peace. Imagine that peace, feel it already being here, DAILY. Speak your peaceful truth. 

If your goal is freedom for all people, do not let dictatorships and monopolies drag you down or stop you from imagining this and feeling the feeling of it actually happening. Speak freedom, express freedom in whatever way you can. This seed of freedom may one day tip the balance and trigger a tidal wave of freedom rolling all over the world.

Sudden change for the better happens quite frequently when seen on a historical basis. Dictators fall, despots are overthrown, and revolutions happen. The only thing that everyone can count on is change. Revolutions are the norm, not the exception. On the way from here to there, keep on voting, and never stop.

Always take the high road, and the higher view from above, and see the whole picture, not just a small part, to whatever extent you can.



POLITICAL PARTIES CREATE ARTIFICIAL WALLS AND BOXES, WHICH TRAP PEOPLE INSIDE FOR PURPOSES OF 1 PERCENT CONTROL

Political parties 'limit' freedom and democracy, because once a party is established, everyone has to fit inside of this artificial 'box', or their voice is not heard, and their vote is not counted. 

A country like the US, with only 2 political parties, has very little actual freedom and democracy. A country with many political parties to choose from and vote for has much more freedom and democracy.

Inside of the Dualopoly that is the US, people are 'forced' to vote for the lesser of two evils, because there is really no free choice to vote for the candidate that one really likes or wants, as they are not part of the Dualopoly. This dynamic creates artificial walls of fear, hatred and voting for the lesser evil.

Just as the Berlin Wall came down, a sustainable future is possible for all of humanity. Just as millions of people woke up in a single day, realizing that they were free and that no dictator or wall would stop that, billions of people will one day realize the same thing, and no 1%, no army, no police force or government will be able to stop them from beating weapons into plowshares. The revolution of consciousness is happening now, it is being birthed by those who follow the less traveled road of love, forgiveness and seeking truth within.

Nothing will be able to stop people from feeling and expressing the love of all people for each other. Nothing will be able to stop people from being free to do, be and go where they will, free of artificial man made laws and rules designed to thwart freedom, movement and free expression of individual will.

Shine the light of love, forgiveness, empathy, compassion, peace and joy on those who need it the most; the ones who are stuck and suffering in pain, fear and hatred.

Nothing will be able to stop  deluded humans who are waging war against Nature, from suffering a loss at the hands of the revolution of Nature. Violating Nature's laws results in a revolution back against humanity by Nature. Nature's laws cannot be broken without consequences.

CUNY professor and historian Angus Johnston pulled up some 1934 NYTimes stories wherein a Quaker calls for Jews to be civil to Hitler and Nazis. Johnston then includes responses from individual Rabbis and Rabbinical society.

Resisting Nazis, white supremacists and Neo Nazis as well as delusional fundamentalist evangelicals is a noble thing. But there is an important distinction to be made while resisting their 'rule' and desire for absolute control/power. Quakers resisted the despotic authoritarian King Of England but did not use violence or hatred, even after he jailed them, tortured them and killed them. Quakers resisted the fundamentalist evangelical Puritans in the early colony days, despite them torturing and killing Quakers, but they did not go into hating them or killing them in turn. 

There is a way to be a pacifist and to resist using non violent peaceful methods that are highly effective. Gandhi is another example, besides Quakers, of how effective and powerful peaceful and civil disobedience can be, when it is based on love and non violence. 

Descending to the level of the terrorists and gangsters via hatred and fear only makes the problem worse, because then the darkness grows. The darkness of fear and hatred cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that. Resist!
